Hi Bees! I am in need of ideas for non-floral centerpieces. I worked (catered) a wedding this weekend that had a big pot of succulents raised by wooden boxes, with little vases, candles, old books, etc. around the pots. I LOVED the whole look, but don’t necessarily want to use succulents. My colors are navy blue, with blush and pewter accents. I’m trying to incorporate my FI’s love for guitars into the wedding decor (we’ll be having an acoustic guitar for a guest book, a hard guitar case for our card box, cake will probably incorporate guitar or guitar picks, etc.). I’m hoping to have a sort of vintage-y look to the wedding, but not too girly as I don’t feel like it’s JUST my day. Any suggestions? Any Bees have a similar theme/style? Anyone have suggestions? Pictures are appreciated!!! Thank you!

I plan on doing something similar to this but I plan on using 4 frames to make it more like a lantern and then having 2 lanterns per table surrounded by votives and flower petals

I don’t have pictures yet.
I am using laterns with tall candles in them.

We’re going with a kind of industrial, metal, found art/object theme for our wedding. No florals, just metal and mercury glass and things. So this required us to put our thinking caps on.
These are what my mother and I found:
I love these. They come in packs of four and in two different shapes (cubes and pyramids) and bendable wire so that you can literally build your own sculptures using as many or as few as you like. Each table with have a unique sculpture and mercury glass votives. . . aaaaand most likely something else – haven’t gotten that far yet. . .
The two family tables will have round mercury glass vases (with tall branchces), just to create more levels in the space. We’ll have our own sweetheart table (no head table) and I haven’t figured out what we’ll do for that yet either. . .
I hope this gives you a couple ideas for your tables!!!

@PhillyProper: How creative!!! I bet your guests are going to love them and you will have fun making them! 🙂
@aheavel: Have you tested these out yet? I’ve seen these and really love them, just not sure if I could execute them.
@naturalysam: The record thing is definitely something i’m tossing around (you can shape records too!)… I also just pinned a super cute thing the other day. It was a frame that had sheet music in it, and it was laid flat on the table and the rest of the centerpiece stuff was on top… it wasn’t over the top which I loved.
Thanks for the input ladies! keep it coming!

@MrsB2012: I love that idea with the sheets of music. What about candles with glass cylinders with sheet music etched or painted on the glass.

You can use a small square wooden box painted navy blue, or a square glass vase painted navy blue on the inside and use paper flowers.
These ones are made from sheet music-these are from an Etsy vendor
or paper flowers made with book paper, sheet music and buttons
votives wrapped with sheet music
rolled sheet music

@julies1949: OMG the rolled sheet music in a vase is AMAZING! its classy and elegant and personal and beautiful! love it! well done!
My wedding/reception is on a yacht so we’ll be doing a sort of message in a bottle centerpiece:
the bottles will be clear and have some sand & baby shells inside and the round placemats will be different colors… possibly champagne gold or beige to go with the shells.
then the table numbers will be on the bottle’s label with this caption:
Ours will say “Please leave a message in the bottle for Mark & Kimmy to open on their *1-22* year anniversary” (because we have 22 tables).
The place setting will have the menu along with the pens and scrolls for the guests to write on and put in the bottle and after the ceremony we will keep them in a wine rack to open on our anniversaries!
I’m SUPER excited!
I’m looking for the perfect runner/placemats now and collecting clear wine bottles but I’ll update with the true mock up (and hopefully not such a crappy cellphone pic lol)
