Hey I say go for it!  You may even get some deals on vendors or your reception site that way because it’s not a very popular wedding date.  It’s your wedding.  Pick any colors you want.  I would travel for a wedding over celebrating Halloween anyday, as long as it’s a close friend’s wedding.

Someone on my local board just had a wedding on Halloween and there was no Halloween anything attached, except for the after-party.  So it’s entirely doable; it’s still just another day like any other.

My parents got married a few days before halloween and there was never any issues. It’s just a date – not everyone celebrates halloween anyways. The only thing I would be concerned about is that if your having people fly in or travel a long distance to get there, and they have kids who want to tricker-treat, they may not come. Other than that – do what makes you happy!

My wedding is October 30th and there will be no orange/Halloween theme.

I wouldn’t mind at all.  Halloween, while fun, isn’t a major holiday (I guess that’s probably an opinion though) so it shouldn’t be a problem for your guests.  Maybe you can give favors that are kinda halloween inspired as a nod to the day but not using it as a theme.  Either way, it should work!
