Okay, so I am trying to get everything done as low budget as possible. Renting table covers is something that I don’t really want to have to spend so much on. Ya know? So I was wondering if anyone has had success with plastic/paper table covers on 60" round tables. I plan on putting an overlay on the tables either way. I might just make those myself.
So, I pretty much want to know if it would look tacky to use plastic/paper table covers or do you think it can be pulled off??

I was seriously considering paper for awhile. You might look into that instead of plastic (personally, I hate those plastic table cloths! :P)

The paper might work a little better. You can actually find really cheap rentals ($5 a table or less), but if you think that’s too expensive, I’d go with the paper ones instead. Also, instead of a table cloth and then an overlay, what if you just sewed the table cloths? Buy bulk cloth and sew them?

I was at a wedding last summer where the bride used this paper table cloth roll that had a plastic/satin type finish on it. It looked quite nice and you wouldn’t know it wasn’t real unless you touched it. The only problem is that she had long rectangular banquet tables not round ones.

@IA_Snowflake: Linens in San Diego area are like $8-11 to rent, depending on the length. My initial plan WAS to buy the material and just make them, but I was pricing it out, and it pretty much comes out to more than if I were to rent them.
