I like Mac ProLongwear.  It won’t smear and will last all day.  You will need to reapply the clear gloss coat, but the color won’t budge.

I have never been successful with one of those long-wearing lipsticks.  They always just make my lips cracked and dry, and you still need to constantly apply the gloss on top.  My makeup artist gave me a tube of Mac Lipglass that she picked out for me (the newest Viva Glam, I think).  It was smooth and pretty and lasted longer than most lip glosses, and one of my bridesmaids just kept a compact and the lip gloss for me to use for touch-ups during the reception.  I don’t think anything will actually make your lips look shiny and pretty all night without touch-ups!

I’ve tried Benefit’s Benetint before as a lip color–it doesn’t give gloss, but it gives your lips a nice berry stain that lasts longer than most lip glosses.

I was doing this yesterday, haha. I posted a thread about if the lipcolor worked for me. Anyways, I am def a chapstick/sometimes gloss kind of girl, but the lipstick I bought was Maybelline’s Color Sensation Lipstain and it worked wonderfully – I’ve worn it for the past few days to get a feel for how long it lasts…Let’s put it this way, I was wiping it OFF at the end of the night and never had to reapply. So I was pretty happy with it. 🙂

I love Covergirl’s Lip Perfection, but it doesn’t stay on very long. Their Outlast All Day Lipcolour is also amazing. It goes on as a gloss but dries, comes with the moisturizing balm. It doesn’t dry out my lips though, not as long as I apply the balm right after the gloss.

You can also try a lipstain, like Revlon Just Bitton, or Stila makes one too.

Estee Lauder’s All-Day Lipstick in Rosa Rosa is almost universally flattering. It strikes a nice balance between lasting and comfortable. This is me wearing it:

I am totally a Burt’s Bees chapstick girl.  Lip gloss sometimes.  Lipstick is just too thick and chunky.  I agree with a lipstain and top it off with a little gloss.  Benefit’s actually stays on even after I wash my face.  And my lips can still breathe!

@Heather25 – I tried the Maybelline 24 hours and while I can’t say it lasted 24 hours, it was one of the best long wear lipsticks I’ve ever used. It stayed put and didn’t make me feel dried out. It also comes with a balm that you apply over the color to make your lips moist. You can reapply the balm as needed. Definitely great for a non-lipstick wearer like me!

I’m also looking for a good lip color for the wedding day. I dont like lipstick and all the lipstains that I tried from the drugstore were super drying… I’m going to sephora tomorrow to get a lipstain so I would appreciate any suggestions

I’m another non-lipstick wearing bride to be and this is stressing me out…

My issue is that i’m allergic to lipstick, concealer, eye shadow, etc.  Maybelline, Cover Girl, all the drugstore brands, MAC, Lancome, all the department store brands, I am so allergic to them!

The only thing that works for me – lipgloss and lipstick – Bareminerals and Marcelle (drugstore brand)….any suggestions from the “sensitive” ladies out there?
