@FutureMrsReilly:  I don’t know – I’m trying to come up with something for us as well.  I’m guessing there are no songs that you remember him playing or singing when you were little.

Return to Pooh Corner by Kenny Loggins has been popular with some of my friends…

@FutureMrsReilly:  I danced with my dad to ‘The Way You Look Tonight’ by Frank Sinatra.  I don’t consider it too sappy.  Our relationship is a bit distanced, so I also didn’t want to choose a song that didn’t suit our relationship.  Plus I’ve always loved ‘Father of the Bride’ with Steve Martin, and this is the major song in the movie.

@FutureMrsReilly:  We didn’t have dancing at our wedding, but whenever we’re someplace with a dancefloor…my Dad and I always request Frank Sinatra’s “They Can’t Take That Away From Me.”

Its kind of our song.

@FutureMrsReilly:  “My Girl” by the temptations is one i have seen done at weddings. it was definitley not sappy and the bride and the father made it look fun 🙂

i was going to suggest isn’t she lovely, lol. i’m not a daddy’s girl either, so i tried to stay away from the sappy songs too. i actually danced with both my mom and dad to that song. i started out dancing with my dad and then half way thru, my mom cut in 🙂

@FutureMrsReilly:  we were just researching this lastnight, and think I’ve decided on Over The Rainbow by IZ. Sweet and happy song, but not too sappy when it comes to my relationship with him.

My dad and I danced to The Beatles “In My Life”.  My dad and I are close, but neither one of us are the sappy, sentimental type, so this song worked well for us.  It’s very neutral.

My father/daughter dance is to “What a wonderful world”. I am close with my father, but I didn’t really like any of the songs that actually referenced to fathers and daughters. It’s a pretty song either way.

I’m thinking of dancing to “my girl” with my dad. My friend danced with her dad to that song and I liked that it wasnt long and was more fun then sappy!

My dad and I danced to “Blessed” by Elton John. I didn’t want anything that talked about being daddy’s little girl like you said because I’m not daddy’s little girl. I love Elton John so this song worked for us.
