What are YOU walking down the aisle to (non-classical music)?
We wanted to do God Only Knows but it’s likely going to be too short (under 3 minutes) and my runner up is Somebody to Love by Queen, but I’m not 100% sold on it that it’s appropriate/fitting even though we love it. We’re doing a mix of 60s/70s songs for the prelude (want people to be upbeat and entertained)
What non-traditional song(s) are you using?

How long is your aisle? Three minutes may not be too short if the song’s just for your walk. We used a 3-minute song for our entire processional, and it was way too long…but we did have a short aisle, and a small number of people walking in.

The instrumental version of “Imagine” by John Lennon, done by Vitamin String Quartet.

We used Low Strung’s, Don’t Stop Believing. It’s all instrumental. I simply loved it.

I walked down the aisle to Apocalyptica’s version of Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters.

I walked in to an instrumental version of Elton John’s “Your Song,” which has significance in our relationship (and is conveniently a beautiful instrumental).

I walked in to Here, There, and Everywhere by the Beatles. Walked out to Got to Get You Into My Life. My girls walked in to In My Life. The whole ceremony was Beatles music, which some people might think is weird, but was just completely appropriate for me, and for us. I say–walk in to something that makes you happy. Who cares if someone else thinks it’s inappropriate?

I walked in to “Make Me Whole” by Amel Larrieux

I’m walking down to the Vitamin String Quartet’s version of U2’s With or Without You. It’s just beautiful! Plus, my dad and I used to dance together to this song when I was very little, and it’s one of my first memories with him, so it’s also kind of a nod to him. Some guests may or may not be able to pick out the song if they listen close enough, but it’s a special touch I’m doing for me and my dad. You can find it on YouTube if you’d like to listen; even if you don’t like the original song, the strings version is gorgeous.

Wait, is that Low Strung song a cover of Journey cuz that might be good (FH loves them).
3 minutes might not be too long, but our DJ suggested a back up song. We’ll do God Only Knows if we can time it, but if there’s a chance it’ll run out before I get the chuppah, it’s not going to work (and will be our first dance song). I don’t remember how long the aisle is but there’s only 4 groups of people walking (FH’s mom, FH’s sister, my sister, and I’m walking with both my parents). It might be perfect, but need a back up plan according to the DJ.
These are all great – I love non-traditional songs for it. We’re exiting to All You Need is Love. Also, I think our parent/child dance is going to be to Queen (you’re my best friend)

If I could choose anything it would be “Sweet Child O Mine,” the Vitamin String Quartet version. Close second would be Queen “You’re My Best Friend.” Still not sure what we can and can’t do for the ceremony though…

I walked down the aisle to the instrumental version of the theme from the movie The Princess Bride (the song is titled “Storybook Love”).
We walked back up the aisle to God Only Knows by the Beach Boys.

I am walking in to Here, There, and Everywhere by the beatles. Not sure what the girls are walking into or what we’re walking out to yet.

Im think the Imperial storm troopers march-dum dum dum, da da da, dum da dum
Post # 16
I’m surpringly my FH with the imperial march as our entry song (he’s a Marine and thinks the uniform is very imperal march-ish). He doesn’t know it’ll be playing.
