I was just wondering if anyone got engaged a non-traditional way. My Fiance did not get down on one knee and open a little black box with a big diamond inside. Instead we dediced we are going to get matching tattoos at the next tattoo convention
(Just 95 short days away!).We are madly in love, and want something that has a much deeper meaning than a piece of jewlery. Of course, we want to exchagne rings at a later date, however this just feels right to us. My Fiance is a chef and has an unriddeled passion for food. I am just as obsessed with food as he is – I just dont have the same skill set in the kitched. Food is what brought us togehter and has been a strong fiber in our three + year relationship. We plan on getting fork, spoon, and knife tattoos. I will have a fork and knife and an outline of a spoon, and he will have a spoon with an outline of a fork and knife.
I was just wondering if anyone else got proposed to in a non-traditional way without a ring and do you feel that people question your committment?

Congratulations, that’s a really cool proposal! My proposal was pretty normal, but I think it’s really fun how yours reflects your personalities!

I was looking at a jewelry store’s flyer and made a comment about how the rings were so expensive for such ugly things. Fiance asked if I wanted to go and pick one out that wasn’t ugly. I thought he was joking, but he brought me to the jewelry store after we did our shopping in the mall and said I had the pick of any ring in the store. I ended up with a $200 ring that I LOVE, and got to wear out of the store since I was the sample size. I knew I’d never get the traditional proposal since he’s not very romantic, but it was special to me and suits mine and FI’s personality. We’ve been dating 6 years and have a daughter together, so it was about time!

Weve been together for 5 years and have 2 kiddies…so we have known for a long time we were getting married, just a matter of when. About 2 months ago his mom was diagnosed with lung cancer… Its really important to me for all of our family to be there and I just told him, enough is enough were getting married asap. I told everyone and booked the venue lol and that was it. Luckily, they are removing part of Future Mother-In-Law lung and she should be ok, no chemo or anything! Thank goodness 🙂 Were getting married in February, but Ive been planning this for years lol

My Fiance and I have finally picked out the pattern for our tattoos. As we were browsing the web last night, we both just stopped and said “That’s the one” Pretty fitting too for what it symbolizes for us – a knot, plus it kinda reminds me of a philadelphia pretzel!
Can’t wait to have this wonderful piece of art so soon.. something like 40 days!
