I think it’s your wedding and you should have the music that you are most comfortable with. My FI and I just went to his cousins wedding in December and they had a tradition ceremony in a church but included non traditional music. We are having the same as you-an outdoor wedding and are definitley considering using non traditional music. Go for it!

I think at this point we’re doing the theme from The Princess Bride for the BM/FG entrance, Edwin McCain’s "I’ll Be" for me, and The Turtles "Happy Together" for the recessional. I think some people will object to some of the lyrics in "I’ll Be" but I don’t care, we love it and it totally fits us.

So, that being said, if you really love the song, I think it’s great! I sincerely doubt anyone’s gonna be going "OMG, that song is SO not right!" It’s upbeat, fun, happy, and has a message you like. Definitely not a bad choice at all!
