@Glorificous:  Since that’s actually your culture, I think it would be a fine idea. People will probably think it’s a lot more interesting than what we are all used to seeing, and those dresses are really pretty.

Love it – go for it!

I live in a pretty culturally diverse area and around here a lot of couples have weddings that are traditional to their ethnic heritage (so not “western”).  I LOVE it!  It’s such a beautiful way to share your herritage with family and friends.  Espeically when you are marrying some one from a differnt background, it’s a great way to introduce his family to your traditions.

not crazy about then but if you are go for them. I think a mix of both (not a plain white dress ) would be nice though it really depends on what makes you feel gorgeous 🙂

There’s nothing wrong with staying true to your culture and being non-western. I’m sure you will look beautiful.

I think it is an awesome way to honor your culture! I would recommend making sure the bridal parties attire does coordinate. I’ve heard a lot of stories about people letting their bridal party pick what they want and it really doesn’t go together.
