I’ve never been on it, but I asked my dad about this BCP since he’s a pharmacist.  He said it’s a progestin only pill (all the others are estrogen and progestin) and irregular periods are very common.  He said sometimes it can take up to 6 months to get regulated, especially if you are still breastfeeding.  You are supposed to get a period though, so if you go more than a month – 6 weeks without getting one, I would contact your doctor.  As with all BCPs, he said it’s really important to take it at the same time each day because the dose of hormones is so small, you don’t want to have a lot of variation in your levels.

megz06:  Well, I have been on it for almost a year…but have not given birth.  It makes your period erratic…and like every BC it’ sdifferent for each woman.  But most women either stop bleeding all together or end up getting less frequent periods.  I get mine every 2 to 3 months now..and never monthly…and it was this way since the first pack.  I did not gain any weight on it…it does seem to give me more anxiety and make me more of a “worrier.”  That part is annoying.  It also gives me sore breasts/nipples alot more than when I just had a natural cycle and no BC.  Sometimes some stomach upset too, but it does the trick in preventing pregnancy as long as you take it within a 30 min window every single day.  I wouldnt worry about the no period at all on this hormone,,,,just take a pregnancy test to be sure but I doubt you are.
