Ours were done within 2 weeks. They arrived the day before we got back from our honeymoon and my mom brought the envelope to pick us up at the airport! Our photographer had a highlight reel up on his website the Monday after our Sat. wedding. We were very impressed with his turn around time!

For proofs usually quickly – no more than a few weeks but you said editing so I guess you mean after you selected album choices and that can easily be 6 months.

My proofs were to me in 2 weeks.  The DVD of all pics in high res were to me in 2 months.

30 days is not much. I have friends that just got their proofs from 4 months ago.

We have a two week turn around for 800 or so proofs and 100 edited images.

It should say in your contract – it can differ per photographer and for what they promise (number of images, disk vs print, retouched or not).

This tends to vary for each photographer. It can be anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months, depending on their workflow and how much editing they are actually doing. It should say in the contract, if for some reason the photographer does not list a range for turn around in their contract I would definitely request that it be added before you sign it.

Real, full editing should not really be possible in 2 weeks unless they are paying someone else to do that work. I would suspect those photographers either only edit a few hundred photos, or do minimal editing. We got ours back in 30 days with full-on editing for every shot (around 1,000). It should say on your contract. And if it doesn’t, and you haven’t signed one yet, get that info included.

We received 200 edited shots 2 weeks after the wedding and then a disk of ALL images about a week later.

My contract says about 3 weeks, which is hard to accomplish with all the editing. If they are coming back in 2 or less weeks the photographer is probable just shooting straight to jpeg and letting the lab make adjustments, much poorer quality. I talk about this in great length in this article:

Ours was about 45 days. We were at the very end of the high season so usually the wait is longer. Really is no excuse to wait that long though.

Hi there,

I was just on another post where a lady had been waiting for quite some time for her photos (I think it was around 10 weeks) and was wondering if she was just being too antsy!

I had posted that while every photographer has their own time tables, (and that you should be sure to find out before hand what your photographers time frames are) but that an average is somewhere between 2-6 weeks.

I personally have my clients images available (proofed and edited) and online for their selections within 2-3 weeks.

Hope this was helpful! : )

Tara
