DH and I want to go somewhere to see the fall foliage. We want to get some great views and pictures and just make it a fun weekend getaway. Any ideas? Also, if there are any cool fall festivals or other stuff to do in the area, please let me know!

The Berkshires/western MA are beautiful in the fall!

Do you have a more specific state/area in mind? I’m from Western New York, and our little spot on the map is just to die for this time of year. My SO and I like to camp at the state parks along Lake Ontario (Lakeside State Park), visit Letchworth (the “Grand Canyon of the East”) and go towards the Finger Lakes, which have awesome wineries and lovely state parks with beautiful waterfalls (Buttermilk Falls & Watkins Glen).

I second the Finger Lakes..Love Watkins Glen and all of the amazing wineries.
In PA, my husband and I go to Gettysburg every year. There are two wonderful wineries downtown and amazing historical sites. You can’t go wrong with any of the BandB’s there either.
We like to take the walking tours over the battlefields on our own. There are some available for free online.
They also have wonderful places for horseback riding through the countryside full of fall foliage. Plus some of the restaurants, like The Dobbin House, do period dining. I love that it really feels like you are back in the civil war era.

Magpie86: Thanks, I’ll definitely check that out!
Mrs.BigBear: Don’t really have a specific state. Willing to travel 4 hours, and if it was worth it, maybe a tad longer. I will check out those areas, thanks!
privatequestions: That sounds like fun! I’ll look more into that, thank you!
