@renwoman:  My SO fell in love with me the way I am and I love how I am but I don’t think I love my health. I don’t know ANYTHING about you but know personally I was hoping to at least be in better shape for the event…Not skinny but healthy and fit. I didn’t end up doing anything but gaining weight due to stress but I guess that is how I saw the process of trying to get better for the wedding.

@renwoman:  I don’t like the idea of diets but I like the idea of changing your diet. I was asked a lot too and I didn’t see it as a desire to get skinny but a desire to start our life as a better me, oh I don’t know. I see what you are getting at though. I was never sickly but my exercise habits aren’t great

I gained weight a couple of years ago, I went up to 15 and a half stone, I hated it, I didn’t feel like myself at all, I lost the weight (I’m 11 stone now) through slimming world and starving myself, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, starving yourself not slimming world. Its extremely bad for you. But I feel happier, healthier and I love that I can wear almost anything.

So if anyone tells you that losing weight (no I’m not suggesting that people starve themselves) doesn’t make you happy don’t believe a word of it. I’m much happier than I was when I was big.

I feel the same way. It’s taken a long time for me to feel beautiful as an 18-20, but I have. FI loves me, I love me, I’m healthy. I felt so pressured to start losing weight that it was starting to undo all the progress I’d made on raising my self esteem and confidence. I bought my dress a couple weeks ago and I love how I look in it. I will be an 18-20 bride and that’s ok. I dare anyone to tell me otherwise.

I am a size 14 dress size. I am currently 15 weeks pregnant. We pushed the wedding back so that I will be 9 months post partum. I am not going to starve myself but I’d like to be able to fit comfortably into the gown in my closet.

Beauty is not a dress size, but I agree being healthy is important
