BFP? TTC? WTH?

I'm enjoying living vicariously though all y'all having kids, but I'm seriously lost on so many of these posts with abbreviations and crazy jargon. Can someone help a non-baby momma out with what we should know about kids and pregnancy? General lingo, stuff that new moms need and would love to get as gifts, ways in which we can support our pregg-o friends...

My boss and about 3 of my engineers at work are pregnant (in varying stages) and I am SO lost. But excited! But lost.

BFP is big fat positive, TTC is trying to conceive, DPO is days post ovulation.
