@jitterbugella:  That is awesome!

My friend, a musician, told her then-future-fiance that she didn’t want him spending money on a ring, she wanted a new piano. He still proposed to her with a ring (albeit a modest one) and got her the piano when they got their first house. Even though it wasn’t part of the proposal she stil called it her engagement piano.

That is so cool!  I got a ring, and I proposed to Fiance with a pendant.  An engagement car is a good idea.  I like when people go off the beaten path.

@sweetcrackers:  An engagement piano is great too!

I wasn’t proposed to per se (we just agreed to get married and my Future Mother-In-Law gave me a ring set that included an engagement ring) but I’m totally going to harass Fiance for an engagement puppy! Best idea ever!

I never even wear my engagement ring…I wear a diamond and saphire band my Fiance gave me after our rehearsal dinner…I LOVE it (not that I don’t love my engagement ring).  As long as you will get a band or something on your wedding day, I think you’re good to go!  …and, maybe never sell the car.

Some friends of mine just got engaged- like it got posted on Facebook (yeah, facebook, I know) a few hours ago- so I haven’t gotten a chance to talk to them yet but I know last time I saw them, she was telling him he could propose to her with a bird ๐Ÿ™‚  Granted, he already gave her a promise ring- it’s a really nice one from Jared’s.  I dunno how it went down though ๐Ÿ™‚  But I will be finding out!

I proposed to NotFroofy without anything at all.  I offered her an engagement ring if she wanted one, but she didn’t.  I didn’t want one, either, so it all worked out.

We discussed an engagement mountain bike. (I’m big into mountain biking).

I opted for the ring instead (which I got to pick out).

I hope that if someone does get a puppy, it’s a rescued puppy from a shelter/pound/rescue group – and not a store bought or breeder bought puppy!
