In all honesty, I think it looks great on you.  I even like it better on you than on the model.  What don’t you like about it?

The only alteration you even need on it is the hem.

The dress looks lovely on you. I would just try to put the whole purchasing experience behind you, get the dress altered as you wish and move on.

It is a pretty dresss.. no doubt about it! I am sorry you had such a rough experience with ordering! I ordered mine back in September and it will be in next week, so it does/can take a while! Have you thought about trying to sell the dress and putting any money you make on it towards a new one? Even if you stuck with this one and put your touches on it I still think it will look lovely.

I don’t know how much DB can or will do, but have you spoken with a manager about your concerns?

Don’t forget you can purchase amazing undergarments!  I don’t think your chest is over-exposed AT ALL…I’ve seen a lot worse!  You look great!

I agree it’s very plain.

but the model also is completely jacked up and you aren’t…maybe that’s where the missing sparkle is?

I have also had not so great experiences with DB.  If I were you I would not get any alterations done by them.  A friend of mine was supposed to have straps put on her dress and she went to pick it up one week before her wedding to find that they made it into a halter top neck line.  I think it looks great without straps and to be honest, I feel like it is flattering the way it is.  Straps may draw attention to the parts that you are trying to distract people from. I think the girls are covered and you look beautiful.  Just a hem and not from DB.  Good luck and congrats.

Aw I’m sure your man loves you as you are, but ultimately how you feel in the dress is most important.  Perhaps you should consider a chiffon bolero.  Maybe something like this:

It’ll match well with the material of your dress – good luck!

If you think it’s too plain, you could dress it up with jewelry and a sparkly veil.  I think that chiffon bolero would look great with it too!

I love that dress! It was actually my #3, I ended up wanting a ballgown.  It looks gorgeous on you and it sparkles more in person than in pictures.  If you want to add sleeves, what about adding a cap sleeve like these (they also would add a little sparkle to the dress)

@suemarkh: While DB may not refund your money, as long as no alterations have been made, I’m pretty sure they allow exchanges/re-selections. It can’t hurt to ask.

Although for the record, I love this dress. It was my #2 and I sometimes wish I’d have chosen this dress. I think it looks great on you!
