My FMIL was asking about when the rehearsal for the wedding will be so she can plan the rehearsal dinner. This got us thinking - Do we really need a full on rehearsal? Our venue will onlyaccommodate a rehearsal Monday - Thursday and it's at least an hour drive for everyone. Not to mention, one of my bridesmaids probably won't be flying in from San Francisco until Friday. It's just too much of a hassle to drag everyone out there.

So we discussed and this is the plan: Have an un-rehearsal dinner Saturday night before the wedding at a local restaurant. Sometime during the week before the wedding on Sunday, I will take a trip up to the venue with my day-of-coordinator. That way we can meet with the venue staff & discuss everything beforehand.

    Anyone else doing this too?

Could you find a rehearsal dinner restaurant that will stick yall in a room by yourselves where you could do a quick run through of anything unusual or special about your ceremony? Unless your location is a challenge, you could do a rehearsal anywhere.

I doubt we will have a rehearsal. We aren't having a WP. We do have readers, but I don't much care where they stand or how they get there. I told the readers that if they really want to practice we can do so, but that it's not important to us.

how baig is your wedding party?  If you have more than 1 or 2 BMs, I strongly suggest the rehearsal.  We had 9 BMs, GMs, 2 sets of parents, grandparents, etc.  Everyone did not show up for the rehearsalm but enough people did to work out the timing, how you wanted people to stand once they got to the front, etc...

I don't think we're doing a rehearsal ... We have a moh, best man, ring boy and my dad is walking me down.

I think it's pretty simple ... right? The ring boy goes, than the moh, and than me and dad? Haha.

mvp bride - I like your idea of a private room rundown. I'll make a layout and show to everyone like a football play or something. lol.

We're having 3 BMs and groomsmen plus 2 flower girls and a ring bearer. I remember being in my friend's wedding and the rehearsal was pretty simple. I think having a DOC helps just because they tell the next person when to 'go'.

I plan on doing it, because if I don't I'm the type of person that will freak out, lol.

At my friend's wedding in april, we went to go and do the rehearsal, but it didn't happen due to 3.5 feet of snow! We couldn't even get up to the location, so we went to the dinner, and had a private room and were able to just figure it out there, it worked very well.
