@SophieExcursus: I think if it were a day time wedding it would be ok only because I think it looks great and is more a day time thing but not so much night.. But if you do decide not to have flooring I would tell guests so they can decide on footwear based on that. Also I would take into consideration if it is a formal wedding or not because grass flooring speaks more cocktail/non-formal to me. Just my opinion 🙂

most ppl probably recommend flooring because it’s really annoying for women in heels to walk on tiptoes the whole time you’re at a wedding (or else you ruin your heels and keep getting stuck in grass).  also, it’s pretty hard to find wedges that are formal enough for a wedding (or guests might prefer to save money & not buy new wedges that work with the dress they plan on wearing).

I’d do the flooring for the whole tent if possible. the bride is the only one who’s shoes don’t typically show or who typically buys new shoes for the wedding, so most other women who wear heels usually prefer to wear normal heels and not wedges

maybe leaving the sides of the tent open or with windows would give more of the nature-feel so you can make life easier by having flooring in the tent?

I don’t think it’d look weird at all.  a lot of nice tents are made to have sides that can open up to get some air in.

I recently went to a ceremony outside.  the bride took the time to track down the perfect wedge heels in the color she wanted etc. & her shoes didn’t show anyway, we all knew it was on grass, but just dealt w/the pain of tiptoeing and/or ruined heels because the wedges we owned just didn’t look right with our dresses.  luckily, the reception was in a different area with regular flooring.  I can’t imagine the pain of tiptoeing/sinking all night if it’s avoidable.
