I'm right there with you. My Mother bothers me about it at least once a month. I told her I'd have them done by the end of this month... yeaaa, that's not going to happen. It's just such a daunting task to try to pick out what pictures to put in and edit it all.
I was good and did the ones for our parents, and then completely lost interest in ours halfway through. I keep telling myself that inspiration will strike one day and I'll start it all over, but I haven't even had a twinge... :-(
Our album is actually included with our package from our photographer! She sent me possibilities for pages in July and I still have not picked! It's soooo hard. She sent me 42 possible pages and I need to pick 15 so I've been procrastinating. It's on my to do list for today though!
@kiddosc: yeah my MIL has been like "well I can get SIL to make an album for me because she did a great job on other SILs albums" and Im like NO I WILL DO IT!!!
@sweetkischa: for the ones for your parents did you choose the same pictures or did you tailor one book to your parents and one book to his parents? I know that my mom and his mom are going to want different pics!
@Running Elley: how many have you picked so far? Im glad to know that you have it even easier and you are still procrastinating! :-)
We've been married 8 months and definitely don't have an album yet. I so want one from our photographer but we just can't afford it right now. I'm really hoping that we can make it happen for our 1st anniversary though.
@eggsbenedict: well you will be ahead of me if you get it for your one year! THat was my goal too but it was delayed. I thought I would care much more, but I don't! I know that I'll have it when I have it and then Ill have it forever!
@PitBulLover:I have it SOOOO easy. I've eliminated like…..2 lol. It's been so hard for me to pick! I guess that's a great problem to have…that I love all of my pro pics but it really makes this part difficult.
@PitBulLover: They got mostly the same, but I swapped out the family pics and the candids to be "their" people. :-) I think I threw more of the getting ready pictures in my mom's album too. I did the first one on adorama and then made a copy and edited the pages I wanted to change. The problem I had with ours was that I wanted all of them in it, and wanted to start over (I used a different shape too - had to go and make things difficult).
i made both sets of parents albums 14 months after, and then this fall has just been crazy. it's going to be my winter project to finish before 2 years!
I am making progess!! I started out having 41 pages and having to cut that to 15 and now I'm at 28....I have no idea how I'm going to eliminate 13 more though!
I'm in the same boat as Running Elley (only we've had ours since May
). I was super excited about working with our photographers to make our album, but it was like once we got the DVD of images and I was able to post photos of our wedding everywhere, the urgency for the album just went away. DH and I really should get around to making some album decisions though...lol.
It took us a year and I even had it made by the photographer.
My aunt said she didn't finish her album for 10 years.
Does that help you feel like less of a slacker? ;)
our photographer put ours together, but it took her about a month to get us the proofs online, me and dh about 4 months to pick out the pics, and then took her about 5 months to actually get it made
I've been married for more than two years, and I still haven't really started working on an album. My wedding photographer (highly recommended by the venue) does not do photo-editing, and most of my pics definitely need to be edited. I've also relocated out of state since the wedding to join my husband and his children. So, I still need to find the right person to edit the images and build the electronic version of the album for me before I will ever have hard copy versions. I'd really like to get around to doing this at some point.
This was just posted on Practical Wedding. She helps you put together your album. Hope it helps!!

My plan is to pull albums together by Christmas. My MIL suggested that as a Christmas present which is awesome because it's very hard to get presents for them! Plus that gives me a deadline!
I actually made our parents' albums (three of them!) for Chanukah last year, and was tapped out of looking at our pictures/making albums that I just could. not. make one for us! So we are over 16 months out and still no album :). I did work on one but now I am waiting for a coupon. We may never have one! We also don't have our video yet...
We were married in July 2010. Still haven't finished our album... I worked on it quite a bit last winter, but then my BFF & my brother both got married this year, and I just couldn't help out with their weddings and continue to focus on our album... wedding overload. So, I'm 31 pages in to what should be about a 65 page album. Hopefully this winter I'll finish it. I'm hoping to have it in my hands by our 2nd anniversary.
I've started making mine on Somerset's design website but I definitely haven't finished yet. I need to get back on top of that!
WE got our pics back about a month before Christmas, so we made albums for each set of parents as their Christmas presents, but we didn't make one for ourselves yet!! Its a lot to fit 600 some pics in an album (we just did specifics that pertained to each family when we did family albums, probably around 100 pics in each) but I will get it done one day!! I am just going to hold out til I find a Groupon or Living Social deal for an album, and then I'll be forced to use it!
We don't have ours yet. Totally slacking.
I'm really indecisive and narrowing the pics down to my favorites has been sooo hard... I did have a nice photo collage made at scrapwalls.com after buying a Groupon for it, and we sent out our thank-you's which also had one of our favorite wedding pics. But I think with the widespread use of Facebook, it's not as crucial to get a wedding album ASAP as it used to be. Or at least that's what I tell myself ;)
We JUST ordered ours last week! We had ours designed through our photographer and it wasn't a part of our original package, so it was quite pricey, which kept us from ordering until now. I'm excited to get it! :)
This thread made me feel so much better. I haven't even ordered my album from my photographer. Maybe I'll do that this weekend. I don't get how I obsessed over the wedding for so many months and then just totally flake on the album over a year afterwards!
I've been married for almost 8 months and I haven't made mine yet. I'm also preparing to move across the country and dealing with a slew of other life stressors, and yet my mother still looks at me (weekly) and goes "girl, we have GOT to do this!"
It was included in my photo package. I'm just... busy lol

I have now been married for 14 months and still don't have an album! I started working on one a while ago but then DH dropped one of our wedding photo CDs and it got ruined so I stopped for a while. I want to get it done and ordered as Christmas presents for our parents.
Anyone else a huge slacker like me? Please tell me I'm not the only one!
