@MrsSl82be:  If you look up an infertility or IVF clinic nearby, you can just schedule one there.  Most of the time those places do the SA there and you get results pretty fast….As far the 2nd question, can’t help you.  I’m scared even typing the word sterilization because that’s how bad I want to be pg right now;)

I will be getting my tubes tied after this littel guy gets here. I am sorry I can’t give you mroe help on sterilization methods. If you are sure you don;t want to get pregnant then he can always get cut too. In fact once DH is insured he is getting snipped just in case.

@MrsSl82be:  It depends on your insurance.  It’s pretty typical for SA to be covered.  Most insurances, including my DH’s, cover infertility testing, but will not cover treatment. So the SA would fall under testing.  Just to give you an idea of the costs just in case it’s not covered, DH had one done last week in Boca Raton (which is a pricier area than the already pricey cost of living in South Florida) because that’s where my RE is located, and the price was $150.  His insurance covered it, though, and his copay was $30.

But it’s possible your area may be cheaper.  I find that everything is more expensive down here.  We were looking into cryopreservation and that was $600 just for one “deposit.”  I read elsewhere online that it was $400-$500.  Stupid Fort Lauderdale!

@MrsSl82be: *Waves hand frantically* I’ll take your fertility!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚  For the sperm analysis, they’ll either give him a cup to ‘do it’ at home, or a room at the clinic. “With limited movies and magazines…option to bring your own” as mine says..LOL

@MrsSl82be: I’ve got eggs, I just need a working tube! (one is gone, other damaged so I need IVF) Can you give me your tubes? ๐Ÿ™‚   Yep, he’ll get a little plastic cup. Fun! ๐Ÿ˜‰   Many women use donated eggs. It is definitely something to look into if you are interested in doing that!

@MrsSl82be: And I with you! It would safe me thousands of dollars and having to go through IVF. Isn’t is crazy how life works? Too bad it isn’t possible to do a “tube trade”.

@MrsSl82be:  That’s just crazy. I’ve heard others say these types of things before. I don’t get it. Same with people who tell others they are selfish for not getting married and wanting to live the “single life”. Some people just don’t want to be married. I don’t get why people care what others want for themselves. It’s really so simple- if you don’t want children, don’t have them. I wish others who felt like you do, didn’t have them! To me there is nothing worse than a child finding out their parents didn’t want to have them. If you know you don’t want them, that is great. Not everybody is meant to have children, or get married or have pets or drink coffee (that one is HARD for me to accept!! I LOVE coffee!) …We all get one life and get to decide how we want to live it. Not live it according to what others think. I’m sorry your friend said that. I think that is just horrible! I wouldn’t talk to her again either. She obviously has issues. She should be happy for you no matter what you choose to do with your life. Actually, most of my friends do not want children. I could care less, as long as they are happy. And they are rooting for me and my husband with our infertility battles. Hey, what happened with the baby fishies? You never updated that thread. Did they survive?!!
