To @Vic_10_12:  Honest opinion ?

Sounds like a guy’s idea of a smoke screen…

He doesn’t want YOU to go that Jewellery Store because he’s either got the ring ON HOLD… or he’s bought it already.

? Why on earth can you not go back to the jewelers because they’d remember the ring? Did he and my BF both attend the same weirdness school?  I wish they’d just be straightforward. If you need more time SAY SO. If you are scared of the jeweler because you talked to him for months and then stood him up after he special ordered for you. SAY SO. They don’t even get the anxiety we feel when they start rambling about weird things. It seems on these boards for every one guy who really are trying to throw you off the scent, there are 20 who are cluelessly leading you on and then pushing you off. OK. I just ranted at your rant. 😀 Sorry. Hope he’s one in twenty. If not then take confidence he will come around soon, even if it’s not December.

@Vic_10_12:  I agree with @thistimeround, I would have to say he’s throwing you off!!!

Good Luck!

FI and I had went to get my ring sized together at a jewlers in september. I tried a few on while we were there and loved what they had to offer. a month later when i was trying to get information as to wether he ever went back to order a ring he told me he went back and they tried to bamboozle him and got poor service. I was so sad because I loved the rings there and confused because the guy there was so nice and they had a very good reputation as a business.

Two nights ago he proposed with a ring from that very place with one of the rings I had actuslly tried on and I’m in love with it. I asked him why he lied and he said because he wanted me to be surprised. Well I was.

moral of the story: guys are weird.

Here’s hoping!! I’ve got to not let it spoil Christmas if I don’t get that  proposal!

Ya don’t get yourself so anxious that it makes you sick or spoils an occasion… remember if it doesn’t happen THAT DAY it doesn’t happen that it isn’t in the works.

The “Jewellery Biz” calls it Proposal Season cause it spans from US Thanksgiving thru to Valentines Day.  That is 11 weeks… not just the first 30 Days of Thanksgiving to Christmas, or ONLY the month of December.

Hang in there, it certainly sounds to me that he has things in the works.
