We have a whimsical cake topper too! Our baker recommened a more simple design so it wouldn't take away from the topper. We are going to do a light pink and white, soft lacy design on buttercream. Here's the idea, but ours will be much more subtle.
Here's the cake topper
@puggleperson: I've got a personalized topper too and I never even gave a thought to making them match!
Awe that is really cute :)
okay, maybe I am looking into it too much :)

So I have big plans for my cake table :) I am having this type of cake topper but made to my specifications. My wedding people are going to be on a type of porch swing with the bride leaning on the groom and our dog on the ground. Our wedding theme and first dance song is Swing life away by one of our favorite bands, Rise Against :) .. that's where the swing comes in... I am also making a pretty fabric banner for the table that actually says swing life away so my guests will get it... not that that really matters because it's really for us, but i would like them to get it ;)
So back to my question, What kind of cake would look good with this type of topper?? I wanted the cake table to look somewhat formal because the rest of my wedding is semi formal but the topper obviously is not that formal... Can anyone help me with this?? :)
Thanks in advance
