We are having an outdoor evening wedding in late April. The plan is for the actual ceremony to start at 6:30, go for half an hour or less, finish at 7:00, and then me and my groom to have time to take a few wedding pictures before sun sets at 7:30’ish.
I have had a hard time determining the actual time to set the ceremony to start on the invitation wording. Any suggestions? Is it a good idea to print an earlier time on the invitations just so everyone is sure to be there and seated so the event can start on time?

I am going to be setting my time 15 minutes to half an hour prior to the ceremony to make sure everyone is in there seats on time. I am also considering having champagne served while they are waiting.

@noritake: love the idea of champagne being passed!!
@firsttime: i agree with a slightly earlier start time on the invite and beverages being served, but since you are doing an outdoor wedding, i definitely say do a beverage station with yummy lemonade and sweet tea?
edited to fix the crazy way i worded the original!

Thank you crebre80. I love your idea about the lemonade stand outdoors. My wedding will probably be inside due to the time of year.
