My first time off BCP I felt insanely pregnant. Every single pregnancy symptom you could have. I wasn’t. Your body might just be adjusting from coming off birth control. The only way to know for sure if you’re getting bfns on tests is to go have your blood drawn. Good luck!

@future_mrs_s:  Did you call your OBGYN and make an appointment?

@Mrs_Juice:  When I was having preg symptoms no because I ended up getting my period. When I was pregnant I called and they saw me pretty quickly. I would explain that you are late for your period, having symptoms but getting negative home tests and would like to have bloodwork done. Hopefully they’ll be accommodating. Some offices will just do a urine test to confirm at first so be specific that you really want a blood test.

eta: oops, thought I was replying to OP, but I’ll leave it anyway lol

I felt pretty pregnant after coming off BCP too, but I would say if you are that late and you are having these symptoms but getting negatives I would go get a blood test.

@future_mrs_s:  Hmm I think it is too early and I don’t think you are pregnant. I think you need to give it until a week before your next period to find out. Again, that’s just my opinion, but I think in just those few short days you wouldn’t have ovulated and wouldn’t have symptoms either. You could still have PMS symptoms, and perhaps your body is trying to get back to normal after being on BC.

My withdrawal bleed off the BCP lasted only a day and was super duper light.  Like only spotting / didn’t need a tampon light.  My period came again 31 days later.

The ENTIRE first month off the BCP I felt pregnant (even during the placebo pills). Bloated, moody, cramping, achey, breaking out, you name it.  I could have sworn I was preggo, and took a bunch of HPT’s but they were all negative.  After taking a HPT everyday for two weeks after I was suppose to get my period, it eventually sank in that I was not pregnant.

I just don’t really see the point of getting bloodwork done for such a small small possibility of pregnancy.  But then again I hate getting blood drawn and I hate getting & paying for medical procedures that aren’t necessary!

I think the first step would be to find an ob/gyn. Yes your primary care phys can do your exams and whatnot, but now that you’re off birth control and could get pregnant if you aren’t already, better to be under an ob/gyn’s care. Do you have health insurance? If so you can probably call them to get info for an ob/gyn in your area. You can also call your primary care phys office to see if they have any recommendations.

@future_mrs_s:  I went off BCP in the beginning of June and didnt get my period until the end of July – which were announced by HORRIBLE cramps.  I had brownish red spotting for almost 2 weeks.  Had almost all the same symptoms you mentioned.

Keep in mind alot of BCPs reduce acne and appetite.  Look into your BCP and see if these were side effects.  Coming off BCP really does a number to your body – makes sense though since your body is no longer getting added hormones.

Lay off the tests for a while and see if AF shows!

i would say go and buy a digital pregnancy test like clear blue/ yes, theyre typically less sensitive that the first response and some others…but if youre 8 days it will tell you. and its so much easier to read ‘pregnant’ or ‘not pregnant’  than interpret lines

if there is a line within the 2-3 mins tho, then you are pregnant. even if its super light. its only an evap line if it turns up later

sometimes though periods just come late. the month before my BFP i was something like 2 weeks late…and i bought soooo many tests and then AF finally came
