I know I only go on facebook on my phone, and it is VERY hit or miss about actually showing me messages, so odds are she hasn’t seen it. Facebook messaging is a terribly unreliable way to get hold of people! I’d try to find a real email address to contact her.

I would walk away. Think about how frustrated you would be if you were trying to contact her with wedding details, or arrange for a pre-wedding meeting after a contract is signed.

Go with someone more reliable.

@iarebridezilla:  Agree, I was thinking the same thing.  I only check facebook on my tablet (no smartphone lol) and it’s the same thing with being hit or miss on msgs.

@limegreenbride:  Either find another way to contact her, or move on and try to find someone else.  Honestly, you should be looking around anyway to get an idea what’s out there.  It’s usually not smart to go with the first person you think of for things like this.

@limegreenbride:  If you have the app, you can have it set so that you get a facebook notification whenever a message arrives, not an actual email. But mine is VERY twitchy and often doesn’t deliver the notification at all.

@limegreenbride:  Just wanted to say… I totally hear you on the wedding planning from far away.  I’m planning my wedding from a different country.  *hugs*  Do you know anyone who lives closer to the venue?  My FI lives near where we’re getting married and he’s been a huge help in getting everything done.

Facebook does not actively show you messages from people not on your friend’s list unless you have a special setting checked.  I would do a little more research and see if I could find a website or a phone number and try again.

@metalbride:  My thoughts exactly. If this is any reflection of reliability to her clients, you may want to start looking into other photographers.

You say she’s just starting out.  Sounds like she’s not very professional.  If someone is really trying to get a business started, they will respond to all requests promptly — even if they can’t help you out.  I wouldn’t try to track her down, or spend any more of your time wondering why…  just find someone else.  Smile
