Hello TTC bees,
I didnt know where else to write this post so I apologize if its not the right place 🙂
I will start with a little backstory. I came off BC in fall 2012 for the first time in 9 years (been on BC siince I was 19 yo) due to excessive migraines. My periods were regular, or so I thought for a few months. In the winter of 2012, I lost about 15 lbs. Around that time, my cycles began to get longer each month until they stopped altogether. I went to the OBGYN in spring 2012 to see what was going on. All my at home pregnancy tests were negative and we used protection so I wasnt super concerned about that. My OBGYN did blood work and internal ultrasounds. Everything came back normal Except he said that I am not ovulating. He will put me on clomid when we want to start TTC. I decided to give BC another try because condoms were putting a big damper on our sex life but I opted for the mini-pill since its estrogen-free which I found out is best for those who suffer from migraines. I guess the estrogen is a big culprit in causing migraines. Anyways, I gained back a lot of the weight over the summer but since I have been on the mini-pill, I dont have periods anymore. Now, I have got back onto the working out & clean eating train so I am back down to 115lb. I am 5’4″ for reference.
One of the girls at my job mentioned that I may be too small or not have enough body weight to ovulate or carry a child to term. I do work out 3-4 days per week (60 min spinning class followed by about 30min of light weights). I dont consider myself to be underweight or low body weight by any means. Its not like I am annorexic or running marathons! I eat every 3 hours – lots of lean protein, nuts (almonds are my favorite), fruits, & veggies with every meal.
Opinions? Does this even sound correct? Im concerned now about not being able to get pregnant or having a child premature (I work in a large pediatric hospital so I understand what having a preemie entails).
