Not ovulating/having regular periods can be an imbalance in hormones which can be caused by a variety of things. Not just weight/diet. I would suggest going back to your primary care physician for a full workup, get your thyroid checked too.

115 at 5’4″ doesn’t sound dangerously underweight. In fact, I think it’s within the preferred weight range for your height, albeit at the lower end. I’m going to guess your lack of ovulation is due to something else, so you might want to go see another doctor. I hate when doctors automatically give you meds before figuring out what’s wrong with you, so if you can figure out why you’re not ovulating, you might be able to treat that before resorting to clomid.

I’m going to suggest thyroid as well.  I’d be willing to bet that if they checked your thyroid they only checked TSH.  It’s not enough.  Make sure that they are checking TSH, Free T3, Free T4, and TPO Antibodies at the very least.  My TSH levels have always been normal, but it was discovered that I have Hashimotos when those other levels were checked!  Also have them check Vitamin D3 and B12 levels.  Being deficient in either of those can cause your cycles to stop.  Getting enough sunlight isn’t always enough as there are genes that control how much of that sunlight converts to what the body needs.

I’m 5’3″ and 103lbs and no doctor has said anything to me about having possible issues with ovulating due to my size. Nor has my size ever been an issue… I don’t think yours would be either. I would say that your coworker doesn’t know what she’s talking about!
