Weddingbee boards

While out with friends (including the one who introduced us - and very mcuh including her in the entire process!), my Honey proposed Friday night - it was adorable. My Mother took the kids, and we were going to the restraunt that I work in for some vino and dessert. About half way through the wine, he put a ring box on the table - and when I opened it...a rock? He said that the ring was being resized & then referred to my favorite animals - penguins - which present their partner (usually for life) with a rock at the end for their mating process, which they then in turn use while building their nest. I said yes. Obviously. hah...And then we ordered dessert, and...........They had passed the ring, which he DID have, around, until it wound up with our server, who is also a good friend of mine, who then, in turn, put it on my cake. I think I sat there for like, a full minute, talking, before I even looked at the cake and realized it was there. And then, I dropped my fork. And cried. And from there, the night was a blur of coworkers and bosses and laughing and hugs and kisses and pictures....It really was perfect though. My mother is really the only member of my family I am close to, or even have much to do with, and my coworkers have totally filled the void left by that distance. Having them involved....really, really touched me.

I am so excitedddddddddddd! My camera broke last weekend, so the only pictures, were taken on his camera, so I should have a good picture of my ring later tonight..I certainly made sure to take a couple of it! It is exactly what I told him I wanted - my job is very physical and hands on, so I told him that I wanted something that wouldn't snag. That was my only stipulation. My ring - perfect. Simple, and understated, and won't snag on anything. It's a channel set eternity band, with a bagette - round - bagette - round - etc pattern all the way around. Love love love love love it.

@bellenga - That is a FABULOUS idea! I hadn't really thought about that, but it would fit PERFECTLY!

@firemanslady - A fab weekend for us, CONGRATS to yo uas well, and fab animals! I've got the pajamas, socks, slippers, etc, too...and I hate to admit this, but, I have skiing penguins on the sheets on my bed...right now. hah....No, not twelve. They're flannel. And warm.

@crebre80 - That topper is adorable!! I'll definetely be keeping my eyes open...We're definetely wanting to reflect our personalities in things - and that would totally fit.
