Not wearing your wedding ring after you're married...even for a day!

so I took my wedding band and e-ring to the jewelry store to get welded together (it's an enhancer ring and looks like one ring with both, basically)...

That was yesterday - and they'll have it done, tonight! However...for the past 24 hours since I haven't had it on...it feels SO weird/wrong NOT having my ring on!

Anyone else have to not wear their ring/band for any reason and know what I'm talking about?

Now I always take off my rings for showering/sleeping (sometimes I sleep in it but not always)...otherwise it's on all the time - and I've worn my E-ring for 2 years now!

I know it's only another 8 hours til I get it back...but my hand feels so incredibly naked and "weird" without it on...

Yeah, we put ours in the safe on our honeymoon a lot.. we wished we would have had cheap plain silver bands to wear when we didn't have our rings on.. and still might get some for the future.  I'd rather not wear my ring to the gym, or the lake, or things like that - but don't want to be w/o a ring..

Do you have another ring that you could put on for the day, just to make you feel better?

We've always kept ours on since the wedding. Of course, we didn't need to have anything done afterwards, so there was no reason to take them off. I take off my engagement ring once I enter our apartment and put it back on before I leave. It's big and I don't like to get it dirty with cooking, cleaning, etc. But I need to wake up with my wedding band on :)

My e-ring has been off being repaired for almost a month now.  I miss it so much.  It just needs to be resized and also needs to have one of the prongs re-tipped.  I was supposed to get it back last week, and I was *so* excited to finally have my ring back.  ...but then they ended up taking an extra week with it b/c the repair didn't meet "quality assurance", so they have to do it again.  Now I'm supposed to get it back by the end of this week.  I miss my ring and feel naked without it :-(

Til I get mine back, I have a paper clip wrapped around my finger! lol

I sent my engagement ring in a couple weeks ago to get sized and soldered together to my wedding bands.  I knew that there would be NO way i would want to be withought it after i became a MRS.  I got a call yesterday that the ring was done ahead of schedule and i went and picked it up.  It's so beautiful but i can't wear it for another 18 days!  I have a fake one on in place of it, because i feel naked without it.

We went to a waterpark and I left mine at home because I was scared of losing it. I want to get a cheap-o one to wear whenever I do that type of thing though so I can still wear a ring without worrying about damage.

I know that feeling. My job as an athlete I tend to bring it out during game time and theres someone always tapping me on the shoulder about it.lol other than that yes it feels weird without it. I guess at first it seemed as only a silly ring and people would hit on you still with the ring on but after the big day it becomes apart of you.

I have to get mine welded together too but I've been procrasinating for that reason.  I hate not having my rings on!  Obviously I have to get over it but it stinks!

I am still engaged, not married yet (for the next 2 weeks anyway), but I dropped my ring off to be re-rhodiumed (I think that's how you spell it? It's a platinum re-coating for white gold) over the weekend and I keep thinking I've lost it! So this morning I put another ring on that finger and it's helped me stop freaking out. Plus I sort of don't like to look single after a year of wearing my engagement ring on that finger. I like the feeling of having that ring there!

I wore an obnoxious fake (like 5 carats) cubic Mike bought me from Claire's while mine was being resized.  I thought it hilarious, but I hope no one was thinking "poor girl thinks her ring is real but it's totally a cubic".

Oh gosh, I forget to put mine on in the morning at least a few times a month.

Does it feel weird? Yes. I get sort of panicky if I can't remember if I left it at home or not but that's always what has happened.

And twice we've had to take the band in. once for resizing the band and once for a split where they resized it.It felt weird even to just wear the one ring.

Mine is getting soddered together right now! I put on a plain ring that I had in my jewelry box just to have something there. It feels too weird otherwise!

Yep! I had to give up my e-ring for a month to have my wedding band fitted to it. I hated it! I wasn't nearly as fun being engaged without a ring lol.

OMG I totally feel naked without my e-ring. I have actually left home and then turned around to go get it when I realized I forgot to put it on. I usually take it off as soon as I walk in the front door at home and if not then, before I go to bed. It is also not allowed to touch dishwater LOL. Luckily my FI knew what my ringsize is and I didn't have to have it sized.

@chocolatemalt - I know what you mean about feeling like it's lost! Sometimes I forget I took it off because it's a force of habit now. I look down at my hand and freak out! Then I remember that I put it away, lol.

I'm currently looking to buy a super cheap fake ring for this very reason.  We're going on a canoe trip in a couple weeks and I would really like to just leave my ring at home; however I know it'll bug me not having it on.  I check it about a million times a day, so I think having a stand in would be helpful.  Especially if it's one I didn't care about losing.

I couldn't wear my e-ring for a few days because one of the prongs went loose and it drove me crazy!  I kept having little heart attacks because I have a tendency to flick the back of my ring with my thumb when I'm bored and it wasn't there!  I finally dug a cheapie ring out of my jewelry box so that I'd have something to wear.  My e-ring needs to be resized, but we're just going to wait until after the wedding because I don't want to go without before the big day.

When I had to get my e-ring sized it took two hours. I kept thinking it had fallen off in the store I was browsing! Hehe, it started to drive my mom nuts as I was meant to be shopping for stuff with her!

For our honeymoon I opted to just bring down my band and leave my engagement ring at home in our safe.  I wasn't entirely secure leaving it in the resort's safe in the room.  Just couldn't trust it.  It was weird the entire trip not having it on.   I too will be getting my rings soldered together but not sure when.  I have bought a nice fake  CZ ring to wear during this time and whenever I send my ring to get the rhodium plating done.

I took mine off to sleep, cook, and shower so i was used to not wearing them.  Now, the humidity has swollem my fingers so much i can't even get the damn things on. So I have been without any rings for the past 2 weeks.  So far, no one has noticed, or at least said anything about it.  But I'm hoping to get a cheap replacement until I can put mine back on...

I honestly never take mine off.  I keep it on while sleeping, showering, cooking, the pool, the gym etc.  I did have to once take it in to get resized a long time ago and I hated it.  I see no reason to take it off.
