I actually haven’t stopped thinking about it since I got my T4. I think I will put all the money into the wedding fund.

We’re doing our first married tax return this weekend… i’m nervous! Fingers crossed we get a return instead of having to pay more money!!

Nope- I made more money this year than ever so my refund went down a lot. I was use to get back like 4K or more- this year I only got back 2300 and next year will probably be even less if at all.

I haven’t filed mine yet so I don’t know what I’ll get back! Prob not much but if so I think I want a patio 🙂

re: the ring…….. I’m going to be a totally bad influence and say GET IT! lol. I mean if you have the money, and your FI is okay with it…. a wedding band is something you will wear every day forever. So if the difference between your dream ring and a ring you think is “ok” is $1,000? Over the course of a lifetime that is like nothing. 🙂

I laughed when I read the title of this post because I’ve been feeling EXACTLY the same way! Mine is more than I expected and my first thought was wedding dress! I also feel less guilty about spending it on the wedding because it feels like free money. That’s how I justify it to myself, at least!

Oh I’m definitely looking forward to getting a cushion in my account from my tax return. Don’t know that I’ll splurge on anything, but it will make me feel bette about what I am spending.

We owe a few hundred this year.  Oh well, I’d rather have the money every week instead of all at once because I would really waste it then!

@Amaryllis: Well we haven’t budgeted for the tax money.
I was also hoping if I got enough, to just put the whole money towards buy a vacation for my parents.

It is their 25th anniversary this year and because of my wedding I haven’t done anything for them Frown

@tranquility: oo this is a great idea – i gave my parents a weekend in charleston at a really cute B&B as their wedding gift from DH and I – the room they are staying in is  the mynewlastname room 🙂 kinda neat and it was only about 400 dollars for 2 nights
