Happy to report our marriage was a smashing success (in no small part to the advice we got from this board)!
I am in need of some more advice. We had a wedding with only very close friends and immediate family (mom, dad, siblings). I’m sure my relatives know we were getting married but I would like to “officially” let them know. Any ideas on how to do this? We aren’t on a real “calling” basis (no issues just the way it is really) so I was thinking a Christmas card; although that seems kind of far out time-wise.
Any ideas or advice?

they have tons of announcement cards available online. If you took any pictures could have some made pretty inexpensively and send those out
here are a few that I think are super cute

We are having a small wedding too and plan on letting the rest of the relatives know by way of a wedding announcement. We are going to have them printed up on shutterfly.com using pics from the day of so they can see some of the big event. We are putting together a list beforehand, and addressing and putting postage on all of the envelopes before to make them easy to mail off the day we get back from the honeymoon.

Yeah – I’d make a wedding annoucement post card with one or a couple of your wedding pictures and mail them out to those people!

i’d suggest sending out wedding announcements. just like baby announcements, maybe include a pictures from your wedding and a little text with your names, wedding date, whatever. mrs. mary jane did a post on this on the blogs a few months back if you want to see an example, they had a small courthouse wedding and then sent out annoncements.

Look at Mrs. Mary Jane’s posts, it sounds like you had the same kind of wedding she did. She ordered cards with a wedding photo to send as an announcement, and they looked great!
