Im using roses.. they are classic and pretty i like em
Roses is one of them and maybe some carnations when u put lots of carnations together they look so nice! ....here: http://www.intimateweddings.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/carnationsweddingflowers-500x334.jpg
@mallory - You are right. You can never go wrong with roses - they are timeless. What color roses are you planning to use?
@Mimi29 - Wow, those carnations look amazing. What a great choice and idea.
our theme are peacock colors, so we will be using more feathers then flowers.
i cant think of anything right now... but you can use something besides flowers.... i am not sure what....
Hey - I just got married, and I was also set on having peonies...until I saw the price. I used garden roses that were much cheaper, and they were mistaken for peonies that night and on here. Just sayin...
@Mimi29 - We are thinking of using carnations too! I just love them bunched together like that!
@NicLoop - I LOVE those bouquets! Are those old brooches? It's gorgeous!
My bouquet is Red Roses with tiny white flowers...but i'm thinking of asking the florist to leave out the white flowers and just have red roses and minimal greens...can't make up my mind.
My MOH bouquet is purple anemonie with mini gerber daises or something like that.
Centerpieces are apples.
I'm going to meet with a florist tomorrow finally!! I love all kinds of flowers and sticking to the budget is more important to me at this point then the type of flower, as long as the colors are right. But I have totally fallen for Dahlias lately so maybe they will be in there, it will likely end up several types of flowers rather then one type.
Can't wait to see what he says!
I'm going to see the florist in June - any idea if garden roses are in season then? I'm not really set on what kinds of flowers I want, but I love the look of big blooms, like the garden roses. My colors are grape, berry, and silver. any recommendations?
I used vibrant fall colors. My bouquet included fiddle head ferns, hypercercium berries, yellow dahlias, orange tulips, ranunculus, dark purple calla lillies, etc. It was gorgeous!! I've tried to attach a photo.
We're November 27th and having a christmas themed wedding. We're doing mini x-mas trees as our centerpieces!
Before we had the x-mas theme idea i was thinking about the floating candles with very little flowers like the pic. you could use real or fake flowers!
@Mimi - we're doing carnations (white and ivory) for the bridesmaids. I wanted flowers that look "fluffy and full" and after looking through lots of pictures and ideas I fell in love with the carnation bouquets!! Below is a pic I love, but ours will be a mix of ivory and white to give thm just a smidge of dimension, and of course the stems will be shorter, these look a little too long to me.
We just had our florist appointment yesterday! We're going with cymbidium, mango calla lillies, leonides roses, circus roses, green hydrangea, lisianthus and I think that's it. Soooooo much stuff...
I like anemones ranunculus I wonder if you can get those in Nov and if there expensive... hmmm I might go with Cabbage Roses though.
We are using garden roses, carnations, baby's breathe, and fruit. Mostly lemons, pears, apples, kiwi in a variety of arrangements.
We are using white roses. Simple and elegant. My bouquet will have cream filler wax flowers in it too.
I don't think we're doing flowers. The closest we're probably going to come is to have rose petals on the tables, altar, etc. And I'm thinking about carring a glass-blown flower that can carry a a candle down the aisle, as the entire wedding party (and heck, all the guests) will have candles.
So, I realize a month ago I posted about carnations, but today we decided to go with ivory tulips for the bridesmaids!!!! I'm excited because I LOVE tulips and I think they will be unexpected in November. I didn't want to go with the common 'fall' colored flowers.
our colors our purple and orange and our main flower is the picasso calla lily. i just love this flower. i havent decided whether i want real ones or fake one for the BMs but they do have bunches of them at the dollar store!
We're trying to stick with the fall theme as well (reds, oranges and yellows for the flowers. bridesmaids wearing chocolate brown) and using seasonal flowers. So we came up with mums, roses and sunflowers! I know sunflowers make a lot of people think SUMMER, but sunflowers in a shade of red or orange looks so fall and so happy to me! I think Dahlias are lovely too...
We are using peonies, rananculus, and dogwood branches. I am not very flowery either so the branches edge it up a little bit.
We are using gerbera daisy's. I dont like roses and daisy's are my favorite flower. We are only doing a bouquet for me and then for the girls we are using a little pale with 1 or 2 gerbera heads (no stem) in it. I am super excited. :) I wanted very simple and very fun and I think I am getting that. I am making the guys out of bottlecaps instead of using flowers for them.

I am not really into flowers and I really do not see myself spending oodles of monay on floral arrangements that would perish after a day or two. Yes, you guessed correctly: I am really torn on what type of flowers to use for my event. Should it be real or silk or a combination of both? I love peonies, but I am told they are not in season in November. So what's a girl to do?
