Still have yet to do:

@Moranar:  I recommend you start looking for a dress already. Many wedding boutiques need up to 8 months to get your dress in. Your accessories will depend on the dress you buy. How much weight are you planning to lose?

@DesertLady:  I started trying on dresses a couple of months ago. I’m set on Alma Novia’s Naiara which is a new 2014 gown. I contacted an Etsy seller with great reviews who said she would be able to make a similar dress. I’m not planning on losing much weight – more toning up than anything. I’ve gained about 20 pounds in the last year and a half because my lifestyle has become more sedentary so nothing too crazy. But, since you give specific measurements and I want to avoid spending too much on alterations, I was thinking two or three more months before ordering. I think I’ll be ok with that.

@Moranar:  Ah, that makes sense. Just be a bit wary of Etsy though and scrutinise the authenticity of reviews. I had a bad experience on there and after I took time to read the reviews properly I realised that many of them were homegrown.

I was going to say the same thing. As I was going to order mine off Etsy too. I started reading reviews doing an Internet search about knock off dress makers and all the horror stories they were having showing the dress they ordered vs what they received not even being close there was even a Good Morning America segment on it. I started getting worried and although I’d be saving money, I ultimategot ordered it he real one from a bridal shop. Please read up before deciding for sure.
