I am a 29th bride! I am feeling pretty anxious and not at all prepared. With work I still feel like I have SO much to do and no time to do it.. My grades are two the week before the wedding and I have subplans to make and prepare for on top of everything.

Do you have everything set?!

@ERsax:  Hi ladies, I am getting married on the 30th.  Still have several little things to do and I was stressing so much about getting them all done I made a calendar and assigned each one to a day or two.  I feel much better.  I think part of the stress was having everything floating around in my mind.  Once I got it all down on paper and broke it into little scheduled pieces, I could see there was plenty of time to do everything as long as I am organized about it.  I really want to enjoy the anticipation of our big day and to feel overwhelmed during these last couple of weeks.

Hey, I’m also getting married on the 30th and while everything wedding wise is coming along nicely, I feel as though I’m being crucified at work for having to take 2 weeks vacation for my wedding. My desk is on major overload all of a sudden and I feel like i’m going to burn out before this wedding. Here is to surviving the next 22 days (I take off work 3 days before the wedding).

@CurtisCupcake:  That’s a great idea!  I’m going to adopt it, lol.

I am a Nov 30th bride, and although the big things are done (I mean, we have everything we need to get married, technically), I still have a bunch of things to figure out still.  Still haven’t booked a car service, need to do seating plan (need to actually follow up on people who are two weeks late with their rsvps!), need to find a faux fur stole for myself and two bridesmaids, need to figure out how we want to display our menu… that sort of stuff.

On a better note, I picked up my wedding band yesterday (EEEEeeeeee!! I LOVE IT!!) and tried on my veil with some hair and makeup that is similar to what I want for the big day, and I love the veil now too!  (I had some reservations when it arrived and I tried it on, but I just don’t think you can picture yourself wearing a veil when you’re wearing your pj’s at the same time, which is what I did, hahaha.)

What all do you girls have left to do?

I have the major things done. I need to buy and put together our favors (doing chocolates in boxes..the only thing ive made easy on myself), finalize song selections, finish and print programs, get photos printed off for guest book table, buy a million small things, seating arrangements and escort cards, and out of town bags…

Im so behind, but am going to try your calendar tip!

@ERsax:  I am doing my own makeup, but yesterday I only did the basics (eyeliner, mascara and gloss) just to get an idea.  I did my hair similar to what I’m having on the day, and I put on my jewellery too.  My FI said he’d be out all day til about 7pm, so I was just tooling around, having a little fun, and I had JUST put everything away when he walked in the door around 2pm!!  I was SO close to being caught!

Everyone thinks I’m crazy for doing my own makeup on the day, but the idea of a MUA makes me anxious. Two things I keep picturing are: 1) Looking like someone completely different on my wedding day, and scaring my FI, lol, and 2) Hating my MU so much that I scrub it off and do it myself, having just paid someone $100, or whatever, to do it.  I’ve been looking through different tutorials and trying different looks, and I think I’m now settled on one look.  My sister (MOH) feels weird that she’s hiring a MUA to come do her makeup, while I (the bride) will be sitting next to her doing my own, lol.  I don’t have a problem with it though!

Uhhh, you also reminded me of a bunch more things I need to do, hahaha.  Guestbook, place cards, ceremony music for our string trio… Looks like I really do need to make a schedule!

The one thing I’m thankful for is that our wedding is at the end of the month.  So even though it’s already November, we still have plenty of time to get stuff done.  At least, that’s how my brain works to calm me down, hahaha.

@ERsax:  Yay!  I love that you’re doing your own makeup too 😀 So true about the makeup spread out everywhere, hahahaha.  I still need to find a good blush too…

@ERsax:  Speaking from experience (This is my second and LAST! lol) ….Remember some things have a higher priority than others.  For example, since the most important people will be mingling and will tend to sit down last, the seating chart takes priority over the guest book.  Trust me ladies, you will never go back and look at that guestbook. Your thank you cards will be made from the tags that came with the gifts.  A guestbook is one of those things the wedding industry has convinced us we MUST have.  A printed menu falls into this category too.  It’s a “nice to have” but that’s pretty far down on the list of priorities.  Your guests will eat what is in front of them unless you are serving such exotic foods they won’t be able to identify it.

@ERsax:  Too much. I keep adding things to my DIY. I still need to round up straggling RSVPs (I have several people who RSVP’d maybe, as if that is at all helpful) and a bunch of stuff.
