I am a November 7 bride! I feel like I have so much stuff that I need to do, but all of the big stuff is done. In fact, we will have envelopes by this week and then the invites are going out. SCARY!
We just sent ours out last week and I've gotten one response back thus far. Then again, most people only got theirs on Thursday. The planning for the most part is completed and now it's mainly writing out the checks for things. I agree, sending out the invites was the scary part, but exciting as well. Now I see that things are being bought off of the registries, so that's good. I guess there will be more than 1 person there. I always had that fear that it would be only a handful of people coming.
My invitation designer started really flaking out there at the end, so I'm not getting my invites until this weekend, maybe next monday. :( Is it ridiculously late for me to be sending them out? Those invites have been my main stress for awhile now. I'm scared to check my registries. What if no one buys anything? Not that I care about that... but it would mean... that no one is coming!! My biggest fear!
FI and I are assembling our invites this week. Hopefully will have them out soon. Then I can start stressing about other stuff.
@ laylabelle - I'm a Nov 7 bride and haven't sent out invitations either. They are finished but I thought that more than 2 months might be too early. I don't think you're late at all!!
We have most of the big stuff done too but I just started freaking out about my growing to do list!!!!
We are picking up our invitations tomorrow! Yay! They should go out next week. All the major planning is done and we are steadily checking off DIY projects. I am ready for it to be here, but I hate the fact that we are in the stage where all the big checks have to be written.
Have you done your dress fittings yet? I am holding off for a couple more weeks before I start them. Am I waiting too long? I just need the dress hemmed and the seams in the shoulder shortened.
Yay! Good to know I'm not the only one. I figured I have to send them out by mid September at the LATEST, that's eight weeks til the wedding, and I gave an RSVP date that will be six weeks from the time the invites go out, so I think I'm okay.
I've had one dress fitting so far, and I'll have at least two more. I feel like I started too early, but I can't stand not having it in the works. I panic too easily!
We're chugging along through things - though it feels like there's still so much left! A month ago I was telling people that the big stuff was all handled already.. but man, these little things really add up.
I think our invites will be going out during the second week of September. Assuming we get them done on time!
Nervousness has set in!!! I'm also a November 7th bride and am starting to have nightmares about the wedding. This is totally unfounded because all has been smooth sailing thus far. The invites are at the calligrapher and will be ready for the mail September 1st. whoo-hoo!
I must say that I am nervous about the RSVP stuff. I'm hoping that people don't add their own guests. But at least we can nail down a number for the caterer and pay yet another large bill :) Can't wait for the honeymoon!!
I'm having nightmares too! Last night I dreamed that a friend came to tell me that my MOH had backed out of my wedding, because she had double booked herself and was already going to be in another wedding that same night - of course, in my dream, she's telling me this AT my wedding. Lord. Like that would even happen!! Still shook me up, though. Already had one MOH back out (my sister!).
Our invites went out about a week ago. Responses have been slowly trickling in ever since. I'm not really nervous, but I am starting to feel a little stressed about all the stuff that needs to get done. I have had nightmares lately too - mostly involving my hair. Somehow it winds up looking like my grandma's hair and in order to fix it my FMIL has my FSIL do french braids.
Our invites went out about a week ago and we've gotten about 10 replies thus far. I've even ordered the invites for our rehearsal dinner (BTW: I highly suggest using Vistaprint. I haven't gotten them back yet, but they looked fabulous and they were so cheap!). My MOH told me when my wedding shower is, so I can prepare for it and what I'm going to wear. I got my dress fitted last week as well, and got the shoes to go with it. I also ordered the thank you cards for the shower from Vistaprint. Now, I have to get to work on paying everyone off like the DJ, etc. and see if we can get in to have dance lessons before then because otherwise, I know I'm going to freeze up! ;)
I wanted to send our invites out earlier than later because of the fear that with the economy not being as good as it can be, we would have a lot of declines. That was my biggest fear. So, just to be on the safe side, we had about 25 of the response cards with a later date just in case! I feel better about that!
Woohooo! I received my invites last night! Now I just need to address all of the outer envelopes, decide on and order the inner envelopes, address those and stamp them off and away they go!!!
After that... I feel kind of like I'm at a standstill.
Invitations are out and now the replies are coming in. I will feel better when the RSVP date is here. We made our date earlier (September 25) so we could send out more invites (if we were able to). We will definitely have 250 guests.
We haven't sent out our invites yet either...in fact, I haven't gotten them yet! They are ordered, but the Etsy seller whom I purchased them from is actually on her honeymoon, so I'm not expecting them for another week or so. We really don't have many people coming from far away or anything, so I'm not stressing about it. I am going to have them out by September 19th at the latest.
I also still need to book transportation and our honeymoon! Unfortunately, FI and I can't decide where to go, and he wants a beach destination and I want to go to Europe. Hopefully, we will get that squared away soon enough!
Hey November 7th brides! We're only a little more than a month out now! It's getting so close!
Do you still have a lot left to do or is everything ready to go? I need to get started on the playlist and booking the final few nights of our honeymoon.
Our RSVP date is coming up sort of soon, and I'm a little frustrated by how many we're goign to have to call up! All of my relatives are coming, I know, but that's probably why they havne't RSVPed, haha. I see them all the time, they mention the wedding all the time, and they're local. Still. I wish they'd just RSVP!
We've got a bit left. Programs and finishing our DIY centerpieces and finalizing a bunch of stuff.. but nothing too major!
Yikes! I just remembered I still have to do dress alterations for me and suit alterations for him. We need to get busy on that.

We need to do that as well, but I think we are going to do that next week. I'm spazzing, too! I'M SO EXCITED AND I JUST CAN'T HIDE IT!!!!!!!!!
I feel sorry for my co-workers this week. SCARY!
I'm a MOH in a November 7th wedding (mine is December 6), so I'm sort of crashing this post. But I just got of the phone with the November 7 bride yesterday, and *I* am kind of freaking out about how much she has left to do. Note that she just got her invites in the mail last week and, although I love her to death, I know she's a BIG procrastinator. And she takes forever to make decisions. I don't see this ending well. So, here's what she has left (and this is not a small wedding!):
- Pick and book rehearsal dinner location, do invites for rehearsal dinner.
- Pick ceremony music and figure out order of ceremony.
- Book hair appointments.
- Final alterations on her dress.
- Book limo/transportation.
- Order favors, create favor tags.
And I feel like there's something else she told me about, but can't remember it right now. If she wasn't 7 hours away, I'd just take over myself. ;-)
Oh my. I have a lot left to do as well, but it's all small stuff - gravy, at this point.

But I DO still have to pick my ceremony music. I just can't make up my mind!
I feel like we've got a lot left, but it's just a lot of little things. This week I feel like I'm herding cats because our hotel block deadline for guests to hold a room is tomorrow (so is the RSVP) so it's been a little bonkers...
We just picked our ceremony music at the church last night, had our second meeting with our pastor - just gotta handle some programs and a bunch of last minute DIY projects!
I'm starting to get really excited. We met with our priest yesterday and he went through the order of events for our ceremony and recited our vows and its starting to seem so real. On the other hand, I am nervous about the RSVPs because guests have until this friday to respond and we are still waiting for a lot more.
I feel like barfing from all of the stress.
I'm utterly worthless at work right now, lol!

All of our stuff is sort of done... luckily we have plenty of time this eekend to wrap up programs and a couple other little things, but yeah, I've reached this point where it's like, that's that! Can't change anything else.
Even a comment from my FSIL about how some guest (who had rsvped no) might come along didn't faze me. I was like, "Well they told us no. I don't even care." If they show up without telling us of the change, that's on them. Haha.
Best wishes, ladies! Our wedding was everything we dreamed and more. We leave tomorrow for 5 days in Cancun. We can't wait. :)
