I'm not doing the typical yellow, orange, red color scheme either. My FI is really into hunting so we're going with somewhat of a hunting theme. Plus we're getting married in an old barn with lots of dark wood. The colors will be hunter green, white, chocolate, and maybe some navy accents here and there. The groomsmen will be wearing plaid ties too :) Hunter green dresses for the girls.
Where are you getting married? That might help with choosing the colors :)
That sounds amazing! I love the hunter green and it will be perfect in a barn. I am getting married in a really pretty venue (pic below). I think I've decided the colors need to be a little bit more delicate and sweet because of the venue. I've been playing with bluish purples or a sort of dusty rose type of color with cream?

Here is my inspiration board on Pinterest. We are doing gray and olive green for our main colors, with accents of ivory and berry (mostly in the flowers).
You venue is gorgeous,@lanipapillon! I love your ideas to use blueish and/or dusty rose shades.
@lanipapillon: Love the idea for the softer colors like blushes and ivory light blueish purles. I think they will go great with the venue!
Thanks everyone! It's good to know I am on the right track and I love hearing what everyone else is doing.
I got married the Saturday after Thanksgiving and our colors were eggplant, matte gold and lilac.
Im getting married the day before you (in Australia though) and I'm doing coral with some bits and pieces of oranges and pinks here and there and ivory.
I'm getting married November 3 and we're doing plum, aqua and grey/silver for ours :)
I LOVE your venue - I think those colors would be beautiful and not overpowering. Pinterest was my best friend for getting color ideas (in real life items, not just swatches).
we had a november wedding and i didnt want the typical fall colors either. I know when I would mention November people would think cold (even though we got married on a GORGEOUS sunny day)..so i wanted to pick some colors that kind of represented a 'late fall'. We chose slate gray, dark purple, and accents of espresso brown. It turned out beautiful. A lot of our decor was river rocks (in the vases), willow stick, manzanita branches, to kind of represent the late fall
We are doing vibrant gem tones. Mostly a royal blue and an eggplant/aubergine purple colour.
We got married in November... but it was in Florida at an aquarium, so fall colors wouldn't have made sense even if I liked them. Our colors were teal and silver, and it worked out incredibly well.
@Gabrielle123: That sounds totally amazing! do you have any pics?
@lanipapillon: Just saw this. Sorry! I'm still waiting on my pro pics..should come any day now! The only non pro pics I have from the wedding are just of me and friends. I will make sure to post some decor pics once I receive them!
And thanks! :)
I made a seperate post but I'll post it here too. My wedding is on this blog and you can see some of the colors I incorporated. There are additional pictures in the slideshow, too. Hope this helps!

Here's mine - peacock blue, apple green, and ivory. It was originally a September wedding, but when we had to move the date because of venue ability, I didn't see any reason to change my colors even though these are "summery" as some have said.

@sweetcrackers: O I don't think they are too summery- lovely!
I'm a November bride too - I can't wait! Our color scheme is eggplant purple, metallic copper and cream.
We are using aquamarines and creams with lots of contrasting different shades of blue. Our reception venue isn't the biggest room ever and it is all brick with heavy curtains so we are focusing on making the room feel light and open.
@raspberry bride: that's my color scheme! do you have any inspiration boards that you can share with me? I'm drawing a blank on how to make the gem tones purple and blue work together.
We are doing a peacock blue and green. Think peacock fethers minus the actual feathers.
After much debate (and dissent from my FMIL...ughh) I'm sticking with my guns and going with the colors I originally planned: Navy Blue, Shades of Purple, and Antique Gold...it's a black tie affair at a golf club resort....I think it will be awesome! :-)
@lanipapillon: thanks! I tried to describe them to my FMIL and she said "those colors have nothing to do with each other" I was bummed out and reconsidering for a little while, but then realized that it would work out.
@pomplamoose: We're date twins :)
Were going purple, light ivory and silver. But as we're in aust it's actually married when we get marrie. So bright colorful is in :)
My wedding is on Nov. 3 2012 also.. and we will be using eggplant and lilac and maybe silver?. Im not too sure about the silver yet.. does anyone have any suggestions as to what other color I can incorporate with the eggplant and lilac?
@lanipapillon: I heard that Davids bridal has a really nice purple lapis bridesmaid dresses thats a good color if you dont want to go with the traditional fall colors
@YarieJoell: Get out! I totally am using DB Lapis for BM dresses! I think it's such a gorgeous purple and perfect for a November wedding!
@Rica2002: Ah, yes. I know about mothers having lots of opinions!! After I went to the florist and saw mock ups of my color ideas, I decided it wasn't bright enough so we are ending up with peaches, creams, and champagnes with hints of brighter orange (which is funny because, as my original post attests too, I was totally against "fall" orange!!). My mom's response "I hate the color orange, I don't want to have to stare at orange all night long" Of course, it NEVER was all orange (just accents), so the florist had to email my mom and reassure her. Anyways, Mothers. Don't listen to them :-p
Lol I don't really like autumn colors, so we are going with blush, beige, peach, mint green, champagne & gold accents - pretty colorful. You only get married once right? I didn't see any need to pick fall colors haha.
So, our wedding is about 5 months to go (November 10th) as we all know being Nov brides, and I already have my dress, the venue (ceremony and reception), the wedding planners, the photograhers and videographers, the hair/make up team, BUT one major problem that I cannot just move on from.....the COLORS of the wedding! That is quite a BIG problem if I say so myself. It has held up SO much of the planning. I seriously am having the hardest time thinking of the "perfect" colors for a November wedding, and we are people who don't want something that is toooo "typical fall colors" OR is tooooo "weird" for that time of month. The FI isn't too fond of brown bridesmaids dresses or suits for the guys. But I then don't think it is okay to still use brown table linens with black guy suits? AND, what would I put the girls in if we did use the brown linens and the guys were in black? Ladies, I have lost sleep over this!! So frustrtaing because I cannot just make up my mind. Also, the FI and I go back and forth!
IF the table linens are brown, the chairs provided are a beige, the guys are in black suits, my dress is an off-white, then what colors would the flowers and the bridesmaid dresses be???? I would love your opinion and advice on the best colors or what could work! Thanks SO much!
Here is a picture of the ceremony and reception locations...(the decor shown in both is from another's wedding) but that shows the chairs colors provided in the reception area....

@Alyssabree: Thats very beautiful!!! I'm doing a fall themed wedding but I didnt want the red/orange/yellow really at all in my decor. I'm having the real maple leaves (seriously, my parents and I are raking the leaves) that are like brown or golden color lining the outside of my aisle runner and the white garden ceremony chairs. The ceremony is going to be outdoors and I'm trying to keep the ceremony space decorations simple because we will be having it near the lake and I want the scenery to steal the show, not the decor. The reception will be indoors at a nearby hotel. The bridesmaid dresses will be a truffle brown and my dress is ivory and peach so I guess you can say that's the colors of my wedding. We will see how this goes!!!

Hi!
I am feeling a bit lost trying to figure out a good color scheme for November. I know I want the colors to be warm and not too fall like (no orange/yellow/red for me). I also know that I am most likely going to be using DB for my bridesmaid dress which limits the colors. Any advice?? What are other Nov brides doing??
Thanks!
