Aw, I think it's cute! And I always like getting favors that are actually useful (i.e., edible). I think you should go for it!
If you're doing kind of a fall theme for the November wedding, I always thought candy apples (a'la Mrs. Espresso) would be really cool.
I loooooveee that idea of hot cocoa .. we originally were going to do that or something similar but then, it might not even be that cold here... but it's so cute!
something like:

It could be cold in KC or not. Kansas and Missouri are so random in November - it could be 70 degrees or it could be 20. You just never know.
That sounds so good, I love the pictures that krissycake posted, i've never seen anything like that. That would be such a cute idea to give out with cookies at christmas time!
I love that idea! I think it's super cute, and the picture just pulls it together! = )
We are getting married Thanksgiving weekend and are going to give out both of our families favorite type of Christmas/Hanukkah cookie along with the recipe. My sister has offered to bake them ALL for us, which I am forever grateful for!
I like this idea, I was going to do it but I already give out my homemade cocoa mix for Christmas. So instead I'm planning to give apple pie sugar mix in mason jars with a recipe card. Also, love those cone favors for cocoa, really lovely!
Maybe you could do cinnamon roasted almonds with a tag that says 'love is nuts' or something, as long as it tastes good no one will hold cheesyness against you!
Were doing the hot cocoa mix for my best friends wedding shower...her's will say "a perfect mix" We'll be putting them in clear bags and trying a ribbon on top then putting them in coffee mugs (something cheap form the $1 store).
"Fall in Love" theme works well for obvious reasons. This one is scented "Fall in Love" soap
Great idea! You could even make homemade marshmallow and cut them in the shape of hearts. ps—Homemade marshmallows are super-delicious!
I love the favors that you can actually use. The cocoa idea is fantastic and the photo provided by krissycake is too cute. Great ideas!
I have done the cocoa for December weddings. I have also done cookie cutters on a cute card for Nov/Dec and recipe on the card along with a thank you. I will see if I can find a picture. We had a computer meltdown about a week ago and I lost lots of stuff.
That’s definitely a cute idea! We were thinking of doing instant hot cocoa packages in our OOT bags. For our November wedding we are having fall colored leaves everywhere, so for our favors, we are doing Maple Sugar candies in the shape of maple leaves!!
I like the idea of hot cocoa... even if it is warmer out, in Novemer.... it's only going to get colder!
I love the apple pie and soap ideas! Hot coco seems like December to me! But lets face it, hot coco is good anytime!
I'm all about recycling. So, what if you took a bunch of empty baby food jars, filled them w/ your cocoa mix and made cute labels for the front and back w/ a cool paper cover over the lid tied w/ a ribbon?
You could always package them in cello, and make your own "label" at the top to close it off.
I think it's a great idea, regardless of the weather! It's getting towards winter and I'm sure people will drink.
Our wedding is the weekend after Thanksgiving and since people can techniquely start celebrating christmas, we are having a winter themed wedding. Our favors are going to double as place cards. The are snowflakes with a little insert to put name and table number... then when they take them home, they can put them on the tree.
What a great idea! Since it may or may not be cold in Dallas for my wedding, I chose caramel apples. www.daffyapples.com
I just got done with an order for cocoa packets. Picture is too large to upload.

A+ idea, I LOVE hot chocolate.. mmm, you gave me a great idea and I'm going to make some now! ....wish I had one of your favors! :)
Here is the favor packet with hot chocolate/marshmallows/candy cane stirring stick in it. The other picture has a hot chocolate packet made as snowman soup (they are in bag at top of picture) complete with a hat and scarf.

What do you think of homemade hot cocoa mix for the favor for my November 7 wedding? I'm thinking that the note on it would say on one side - how much is needed for a serving and the other side would say -

I know it seems cheesy, but I think it's kind of cute. I just need to find packaging. What other ideas would you recommend for November wedding favors?
