Haha, I may not have followed etiquette on this one... I sent out reminders a week in advance, telling people they had a week! Then I sent out reminders on the day of, asking people to respond to my email with their meal selection if they hadn't dropped their RSVP in the mail already! I'm so impatient, but it worked!
Definitely wait a day or so! Nothing bothers me more than people who start bothering me for things before a deadline or immediately at the deadline. I know you're excited but sometimes it takes a while for people to firm up schedules.
I think it's fine to do it today! I was emailing people the day after our deadline. If it's in the mail, no big deal, they'll just tell you that.
I think you should give them one more day to get the ones that got put in the mail on the deadline. Then I would actually take the time to call people - it is way too easy to ignore an email!
I would wait until this evening. That way you can get the mail today and then people will get the reminder and still be able to send out their card tomorrow (since Monday is the holiday)

Our RSVP reply date was yesterday... FI says to wait another day (for the mail today) but I was ready to send out reminders days ago ;)
What do you think hive - wait another day (for those that put theirs in the mail on the RSVP date)? Or get calling/emailing! :)
