In addition to buying gifts from the registry, I think everyone I go to baby shower for in the future will also get a pair of BabyLegs and the Fisher Price Seahorse because those are 2 products I love! (Yeah yeah, I know all babies are different and like different stuff, but the FP Seahorse seems to be pretty universally loved by babies. And BabyLegs, I love the convienence of not having to de-pant and re-pant the baby to change their diaper.)
Now that you are a parent, are there items you tend to give regardless if they registered for them or not? I’m curious to see everyone’s favorites!

Sophie the giraffe, for sure. DD can’t get enough of that thing. Also at least one jumbo box of diapers (if they’re doing disposables.) We got so many disposables when DD was born, and they were just a lifesaver in the weeks it took me to be brave enough to leave the house with her.

@abbyful: I always get the new mom a gift certificate for a pedicure!

a bumbo and 2 big boxes of diapers in size 1. newborn diapers are cute, but you get a TON of those. Also clothes in 3-6 months. I remeber running out of EVERYTHING when my son grew out of his newborn stuff.

Not a parent yet, but my friend got this sleep sack that has a hole between the legs in it so you can stick the carseat buckle through that seems pretty ingenious.

For baby boys, I like to get a white T shirt, a pair of jeans, with the smallest pair of boys white underwear I can find. They are so cute! I also make a little leather jacket to go with the jeans.
For girls, I often buy a bathing suit, beach towel, sunglasses, little tiny flipflops and sunscreen to wear the next summer (depends on the time of year the baby is born).

Boppy if she’s breast feeding. That is hands down the thing I used the most. I seriously do not know how women got by without the thing. Im pretty sure I said that on a weekly basis.
