Sorry, there are no users yet.
I am hoping this is a sign of awesome luck!
Within the past week I was looking on facebook at a friend's friend list and saw someone I hadn't seen in forever... and followed HER friend list to see another person I also hadn't seen in forever, four or five years at least. Last I heard she moved out of state and we lost touch. We weren't "friends" but we were acquaintances and I liked her and we ran in the same circles.
Back then she was working as a professional photographer. She had some government related job (as a photographe) and also did weddings and family shoots and her wedding business seemed to be doing quite well. I remember checking out her website at the time and very much liking her style. She also did some pics for me of me, FI, and my kids (some of my most favorite photos of my children EVER from those sessions) and for friends as well, all gorgeous.
I believe I mentioned all this in a recent thread where I complained about how I never look good in pics and how one of the three most awesome pics I've ever had of myself was taken by her. THere were also some others taken by her that I didn't like at all though. I liked everone else in the photo BUT me. I have serious issues about my lack of photogenic-ness (is that a word?)... so anyway...
Fast forward. When I saw her on the friend-of-a-friend's FB I sent her a friend request and we got to talking back and forth and of course my wedding details are all over my FB so she right away asked about that. Turns out she's back in the state of Tx..but no longer actively working as a photographer but wanting to get back into it. So in our messaging I asked her if she could maybe look over some of the photographer sites I'd found (we're marrying in another state and I've been stressing about finding someone since the town is VERY small and rural) and help me make a decision, and she responded that she'd actually love to photograph our wedding if we'd cover her airfare and pay her a modest fee!
So I am thinking this could be amazing for us! SHe would be around for much longer than any photographer we could have afforded!
The only way this might not work out is if she can't get time off her day job since we are marrying on a Thursday early afternoon. I am hoping there's enough time for her to work around this though. I may be overlooking something obvious but at this point this looks like an awesome idea, and she's someone known to me (I am a bit weird around strangers at first, introverted and just kind of awkward)... so I think I'd be more at ease which would equal better pics.
Thoughts?
Crossed fingers that it does work out?
Things have been working out amazingly well overall (wedding wise) and I am not used to that sort of thing, lol. I hope this is another good thing!
