My fiancé and I are getting married this Friday (woohoo!!) and we have decided to NTNT. I have been on the pill for almost 10 years now, and I finished my last pack this past Saturday. I already feel like a weight has been lifted off of me.. I know it’s only been a few days, but I feel SO much better!
FI and I have been together for 7 years now, and we both feel ready. I have major baby fever!!
I’m a little nervous I’ll have trouble conceiving because of how heavy and irregular my periods were before I was on the pill (I used to pass out from the pain), but trying to stay positive.
Good luck to everyone NTNT and TTC!! Looking forward to being a part of these boards! 🙂

How exciting!! I was on birth control as a teenager since I was a distance runner and had only 2 or 3 periods a year and they were so bad I became anemic. I was on the pill/patch/shot/some form of hormonal bc for over a decade and came off last year (we used condoms as a back-up with no issues at all) so that I would be regulated by the time we were ready to TTC. Fortunately, my cycles more or less regulated well and after 3 or 4 months, I was pretty normal! Enjoy being hormone-free 🙂 Also, don’t be freaked out by a wonky cycle or two, it’s pretty normal as your body adjusts to the change. A lot of Bees (myself included) highly reccommend charting your basal body temperature to see if/when we ovulate. That way you don’t waste a ton of money on pregnancy tests because you think you’re “late” when in actuality you didn’t ovulate or ovulated much later in your cycle than usual.
Good luck, enjoy the ride 🙂

@DaneLady: Thanks!! I will definitely be looking into the temping/charting. Did you read taking charge of your fertility? I’m thinking of buying that book.

@Blondee: I didn’t read it, but I’ve heard that it is an amazing wealth of information. I did use the free FertilityFriend app on my phone though.

@Blondee: You can get TCOYF on Amazon for under $15… I am currently in my 3 cycle of TTC and the book is VERY informative! GL
