@Crazeebee3:  Well I would sit down and create a rough list of family/friends and whom ever else you want to come. Ask both sets of parents if they would like invite anyone and see where your numbers land. It all depends the locations of guest etc and whether you think they will come. I would say start with a list of 200-250 people and than figure out who you think will come and go from there. We were told if our guest list was 120, expect 90-100 people and go from there

@Crazeebee3:  I had a 150 person minimum and I invited 200 people. I ended up having 165 guests. It worked out very well.

150 minimum? i think they say invte 20% more people than you can have, or something like that.

i agree with @Mez03– sit down and make a list of family and friends that you want to invite. make sure everyone you absolutely have to have at your wedding is on there. then, if you’re not at 150, start adding people.

I personally wouldn’t want to risk inviting more people than I can fit. Also, have you seen your venue set up for 150? A lot of times when venues are set for the max, it’s REALLY tight, even though everyone technically everyone fits. Our venue max is 200, and we’re inviting around 190, but that’s just about everyone we know and like enough. That beong said, our DOC had some formula and said we can expect around 130 (it’s something like a 20% decline rate for local guests and a 35% decline rate for OOT- I don’t remember the specifics now, though)
