I’ve seen the tip numerous times on the boards, but I wanted to reiterate it… NUMBER the back of your RSVP cards!
I cannot tell you how many headaches this can save. Just to give you an example – out of 50 invites –
2 sent in RSVP cards with no name written on them & no return address.
1 sent in an RSVP card with “Me & a guest” (?!?!?!) filled in on the line.
3 were completely illegible.
I needed those little numbers on the back for more than 10% of my RSVPs.
FI freaked out when he opened the first one that came back blank – he didn’t realize that I numbered the back. He was very impressed with how calm I was about it, and then when I told him why, he was very impressed with how smart & organized I am. 😉
So, yeah, definitely #1 invitation tip in my book.

Yes! I had 2 people RSVP back and didn’t write their names on the cards! It was a total lifesaver 🙂

I haven’t had this problem yet. Of course, RSVPs are due in less than a week and we’ve got roughly a third of them back… :/

I got one of those black light pens for like under $2 including shipping-I saw it on Mrs. Green Tea’s posts.

I didn’t number the cards but I wrote the names of the guests who were invited on the RSVP myself as well I included a line that said “____of “# of guests names who were on the card” will be attending.” That way all the guests had to do was check off weather they were coming or not and how many people were coming. Then I knew who’s card was whose because I had written the names on myself. I had someone try to “add” an extra person and they had to sctrach out names and numbers so it was ovbious that they were trying to add someone, therefore there would not be any surprise guests.

I have seen this elsewhere and I totally meant to do it, but forgot :-(. Haven’t had any problems yet, but our return date is 12/15/09. So we have some time yet. Hopefully no problems. A lot of people have been putting return address labels on theirs which is helpful. If I do get some who forget to right names in them, then I will just assume they haven’t RSVP’d yet! Hopefully that doesn’t happen though.

I didn’t bother, just because it seemed like so much extra work. I haven’t had any problems with people not writing their names. One person did write their name, but didn’t say if they were coming or not, lol. But he’s in the bridal party, so I assume he’ll be there 😉
