Have you decided on yours yet? If so, what are your color schemes and themes. If not, then what are some of your ideas?

Yes. Baby Owls!!!!!!! Right Mrs Spring? =]

Already DH to get the hell over it, it's happening. It's unisex but it makes me sad that it is EVERYWHERE cuz i've been wanting this theme since before owls were super popular.

I'm not preggers yet, but do you know of that children's book called, "Guess How Much I Love You?"  I adore that book but more so, the illustrations.  So when it's my time, these this is the theme I want to roll with.  Everytime I look at the pictures from this story, it makes my heart ache...they are so cute.Nursery Themes : wedding nursery 54451

@StephinPA - I have not heard of that book but I bet you should be able to find something to match that. Besides it is super cute!!

@ejs - that stinks. I hate when things that aren't super popular all of a sudden is everywhere. Kind of like my real name. It was very unique growing up but now I hear it all over the place. It was bound to happen but I like that it was mine :)

Agreed. But, it makes finding baby owl stuff easier. Plus, I doubt any of my friends/family IRL would actually do baby owls. Everybody still does zoo animals and under the sea and other cute stuff. Owls are kinda like "whaaat?" but I was a Chi Omega in college so it totally makes sense =]

    @Krissycake, OMG that is ADORABLE!

When I took photos for a friend, her nursery was ELECTRIC colored. It was crazy bright but super cute. She got everything from Ikea

@ejs -i just love how 'light' the room feels. I am guessing that when the time comes, as much as I love pink, we might have to choose like a green or yellow for the wall in the interest of if we have more than one child...but yeah, I love dots and circles.

and i really love the baby owl idea =)  i agree on the idea of things getting popular AFTER you announce it's something you like, though!  hehe, i remember when everyone started liking the color brown as an accent with things and it had been one of my fave colors for years...i don't know why, obviously it wasn't "MINE" but i felt all annoyed that other people took "MY" color.  it's silly.

And for some reason...I also dig a green/purple combo for a nursery.  But the bunny rabbits still trump it.

I am doing a cliche pink nursery and am SO excited!  We are painting wide pink and white stripes on one wall, getting a monogram decal from etsy to hang over the cribe, this is our bedding

    http://www.rhbabyandchild.com/rhbc/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=rhbc_prod105138&navAction=jump&link=link=ci_european_embroidered_bee_bumper_and_italian_contrast_dot_sheeting_crib_bedding_collections&cm_re=CI-_-CategoryImage-_-EuropeanEmbroideredBeeBumperAndItalianContrastDotSheetingCribBeddingCollections

And we are hanging a chandelier for her.  I am not typically a girly-girl, but I can't help myself!

@stephenPA, I dig that weird purple/marooney shade (like a plum i guess?) with a turquoise but DH says it's too girly. I like it but it's also uber popular now. Blah!

@Roddybride, yeah the colors were great, but honestly, SOOOOO intense i wondered if the baby would get any sleep, lol! The walls were fuscia, turquoise, and bright lime green. Very cool tho

LOL. Well they are new parents so maybe they just thought it was fresh but didn't think about the stimulating aspect. Not gonna lie, it made for great photos!

But i loved all their weird little stuffed animals from Ikea. They're like alien plus zoo animal crosses. I'm determined to go to Chicago with DH to go buy stuff now =].

Yeah, I have been through the kids section of ikea. They have some awesome toys for them, so I will definitely be making a visit. How can I not, my job is literally 2 minutes from one of their locations.

I bought my niece a small tent for her and she loved it. She's had it for 6 years but I think they threw it away this year since my pooch decided to use it as a bathroom...

Ack! Everything is so stinking cute I'm squealing out loud at work!!

My husband is a die-hard Green BayPackers fan, so he thinks we're doing a green & gold theme. I'm a hard-core San Diego Chargers fan, so I say blue & gold. I don't think we'll be doing either. My husband also plays Hockey, so that's been tossed in, but I'm not super into it. I like Eric Carle, but he's not into it. Not crazy about the generic sports theme, either. We totally don't have our stuff together on this. My hubs is an engineer, so maybe something around that. He's also Finnish, so maybe something around that!

For my daughters, I had a violets theme for my daughter, whose name is Violet! And for my Lulu, I had a pink & black Parisienne theme that was really cute! If we have another girl, though, I'm doing Alice in Wonderland, bc we just inherited a ton of antique tea sets and I love Alice in Wonderland!

Ok NOT preggers but I have two definite themes:

This one will never be hubby-approved but PUG themed in a classy way...

Nursery Themes : wedding nursery Pugtheme

OR a giraffe theme but like, CLASSY giraffes not cartoon-y crazy giraffes.

CUUUUUTE, kjpugs! Those photos are adroable. Or paintings? love them!

I like the "classy" animal look, too. Not the crazy weird cartooney animals. Unless they're like that weird giraffe in my picture above, really colorful and stuff. I couldn't do like, a mickey mouse theme or other cartoon theme. Or spongebob. You know that kind of stuff. Just like classy stuff in general and not overly kitschy. =]

Of course, I say that now but I don't have kids yet. I may get overcome with the kitschiness

EJS!  You know me so well!  I'll just say, too, that even though owls are becoming more popular, it's still not very mainstream.  When I told my mom we were planning on decorating in owls, she seriously had the most confused look on her face.  :)  I still don't think she really "gets" it, lol.

This quilt is our inspiration, and I am decorating everything around it.  Our colors are honeydew melon, white, and yellow cream (the quilt is being made in those colors).  The main wall color will be honyedew melon, and we're trying to find a local art student to paint a mural on one wall of a forest with owls (kinda like this one, but with more trees on the wall and all in shades of the yellow cream color instead of multi-colored/textured).  We were going to use hand-me-down furniture, but my in-laws graciously offered to buy us furniture set this week.  Woot!  Crib, Dresser, and Toy Box.  Also, my husband is going to create an LED light show on the ceiling; he found the info on instructables.com, and he's been dying to do it ever since.  I guess that's what I get for marrying an engineer.  :)

I'm so excited to start decorating, but unfortunately I have to wait until my husband is done remodeling the bathroom.  I think we'll start on the nursery in March.

I've loved turtles forever, and have a ton of figures people have given me!  So, we're doing a turtle/water theme.

apple green walls, white wainscoating, possible some ocean/wave decals

    Here's 2 Cocalo themes I like:

    Speaking of owl quilts!

I'm making one for my friend (Also a XO)

I love the honeydew color! In fact, I'm digging it with a light cantalope and kraft, with black furniture in my head. Ooo that sounds pretty!

I'm so obsessed with baby owl stuff. And I love how all the baby stuff is becoming chic now.

@Mrs Spring, thanks! I had to make sure not to pick anything girly/manly b/c they don't know what sex the baby will be.

She did buy the baby this:

Onesie because she has a french bulldog.

Look what I found, kjpugs! Pug Onesie

Is that a pug I see? Yes I think it is! This one's fun, too: Onesie

    Love it all!

Not preggers...yet, but I already have some nursery ideas up my sleeve. I want color. One of my ideas (for a girl) is to do a Candyland theme. Like the board game..only more vintage. My inspiration:

For a boy, I'm thinking maybe robots or rocketships:
