I am not even TTC yet, but I think it's getting close to time. I have really been into nursery themes lately and I wanted to know what everyone els eis doing/thinking.
For a boy I want a monkey theme...greens, browns, etc. I <3 monkeys!
For a girl I want grey walls with pinks, and black and white damask with accents of gray. I even want a mini chandelier over the crib. SO, of course bling would be incorporated ;)
What about you?
I'm a pig lover, so no matter what it would be pigs. For a boy I'd use primary colors and for a girl (which I'm having!) will be pink pigs.
Our nursery is a lamb theme. Very gender neutral but still sweet.
@Pelikila: I love lambs. I remember having a sweet lamb that sang to me when I was little.
We're going to look this weekend to see what we want to do this time. Honestly, I'm looking at DIYing it after some pushing from another bee.
@Miss.Lace: Gasp!!! I had never thought of that......that is sooooooooooo sweet!
My Hubby and I aren't even TTC yet, but I already have both my boy and girl nursery themes picked out! haha.
For a boy:
I want a vintage/americana vibe with transportation. We have these old looking metal planes and model ships that we got from World Market I want to incorporate. I'm thinking for colors navy, white, and touches of red. I would love to find some old metal signage to put up too. I haven't been able to find any pictures of what I am picturing in my head though.
For a girl:
I want a vintage birds/birdhouse theme. For colors, I want to incorporate purple in the mix, but it seems like it might be too modern for what I want to go for. I may just stick with brown, yellow, green with some pink. I have pictures of what I'm thinking of!

What really started me on this theme was this pic I found. I LOVE the idea of a homemade mobile like this!

Wow, I LOVE the Dr. Seuss one, that's too cute!
This is an idea of what you'll see in our nursery: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/baby-boy-nursery#post-1665366
Thanks! I'm waiting for another delivery that should be here tomorrow and I'll have the bed all set so maybe I can take some photos of it to share this weekend.
If we didn't have our nursery done already (thankfully, I'm 9 days from my due date with our little boy!) I would jump all over those Dr. Seuss themed nurseries! They are AWESOME. I love the one fish, two fish dresser!
We ended up paiting the room a medium green. We have embroidered jungle animal curtains, sheets and bedding that is mainly green with other neutral tones, and canvas that we put a monkey decal set on that says "no more monkeys jumping on the bed". It's pretty basic.
@AbbyDabbyDoodleBug: That's very unique. This is the first that I have heard of the birds. That should be fun to do.
@Miss.Lace: Thanks for sharing more.
@Lillindy: That's really nice. It'd look so great with dark furniture. I'd love to see the pics.
@mrstilly: Please share pics!! Monkeys rock! Wow and you're so close!! I'm excited for you!
I love chocolate and blues for a boy, white and pink for a girl. Here are some of my inspirations:

@Miss.Lace: Next month, aaahhhh! I'm due on the 24th, it's crazy to think I have just a few more weeks left.
@PrncssDva: Thanks! This is the furniture we bought, just waiting for the 2 dressers to finally be delivered. http://www.babysdream.com/ViewCollection.aspx?cid=8
@mrs.peters.to.be: I really like the letter mural on the boy's wall.

Here are some ideas I have in mind. (We want to be surprised with the gender) My husband and I LOVE the beach, ocean, fish and anything else related. These are my two favorite inspiration pics so far, although the wall is pretty bare in the first pic. But I love the colors!!

@mrs.peters.to.be: Aww I have that same first picture in my inspiration file!
We're doing blues and browns as well (I would have done them for a girl too, but maybe added some pale pink accents).
This is my "mock up" of our baby room -> http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/nursery-inspiration-finally-found-our-furniture
@PrncssDva: I already have a ton of pigs and pig paintings that I've done so it'll be easy for me to do the nursery. Here's my first inspiration picture of a decal I found online.

oh I'll play ;-) We're not TTC yet either (wedding is 8 weeks away!) but one of my BF's has just had a baby and its made me all broody and inspired to think about nursery themes... I always thought I'd do a Noah's ark theme, with rainbows and animals etc but then I saw this tree wall decal:

LOVE! So now I am hooked on the idea of a tree or woodland theme - perhaps even putting our wedding guestbook tree in there as artwork? We won't want to find out the baby's gender first so it would need to be a gender-neutral theme and I like green since its not overpowering either.
here are some more tree/wood inspired themes for you ladies!

I really like the Dr Seuss idea as well - but one of my favourite childhood books was The Little Prince - and you can get decals on Amazon!

Great idea for a thread PrncssDva!
@panda in England: Thanks so much!! The tree decal is really wymsical! I remember the "Little Prince". I don't know if I ever finished it though.
@Jenn23: Love that beach theme!
I am not sure about really doing a theme, but since we are team green we are just going with a dark teal and a soft green.

We didn't want to have to repaint the baby's room which is already blue so we went with stars and moons as a loose theme and I'm pretty happy with it. MIL is making this blanket http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog/productdetail.jsp?CATID=cat2926&PRODID=prd60836 and most of the other star/moon related things in the room are DIY. Here's a few pics of our work in process (sorry so huge!)..
@LpCutiPie: I couldn't help but notice that she has lots of robes. I think baby robes are THE cutest!
Pictures of this nursey are the ones that are taking up most of my nursey folder (because yes, I'm totally saving nursey inspiration folders). I love how bright and cheery it is. When I'm finally pregnant I might change my mind, but currently I'd want to steal a lot of those ideas (and I have some fab prints that would match it).

(I also have pictures of the Suess nurseries saved. I love those!)
DIY Bird Mobile
I
Her and her mother painted and reupholstered the chair.
She said the room was too big for one panoramic shot of it, hence the picture melding (and funny lines).
@Mrs Sarah McK: I love that room! That's exactly what I was going to be going for if I had a boy. But since I'm a pink lover and we're having a girl, it'll be pink.
@artbee: Yeah, I think if we have a girl I'd swap out the orange for pink, but I love the turqouise.
