I haven't personally tried it but my mom did and she got very, VERY sick. She had a bad reaction to something that they put in the food so she ended up sending it back after only a week. I don't think her reaction is common, since I have heard of other people who used it and saw results but I've been too scared to try it for myself.
I tried it last summer, and lost about 10 pounds in a month. It's easy to follow, and I never felt hungry- in fact, sometimes I had difficulty finishing all the food. The portions seem small when you first get them, but everything has a lot of fiber and protein so it fills you up quite a bit. You have to add your own fruit, veggies, and dairy/protein servings, so that's something to keep in mind. Also, I wasn't a fan of some of the food choices- you kinda just have to try stuff out to figure out what you like. I stopped doing it because it was kind of expensive, but now I'm thinking of joining again, since they've lowered their prices and are now including the frozen foods as well.
Nutrisystem tastes like cardboard.. Most of the food is dehydrated, so I affectionately named it "space food". Adding hot water to make my hamburger rise is not my cup of tea. I lost 5-10 pounds in a few weeks, but quit because I couldn't handle the nasty food.
My parents tried it and said the food is NOT good. I've heard the food is better at Jenny Craig if you're looking for a program that includes food. Ediets also has a food delivery program, haven't tried it, but it looks decent.
I'm doing weight watchers, just started a week ago, lost 3 lbs the first week. It feels pretty easy to live with. Nothing like almost hitting the 6 month until THE BIG DAY milestone to get me motivated. Best of luck to you!!
I did Nutrisystem about 20 years ago (God I feel old now... lol) and it REALLY worked for me at that time. The only thing I really didn't like was the eggs, but I'm not really an egg person to begin with and very very picky when I do have them. Other then that I liked the snacks and food they had. I'm sure things have changed at least a little since I was on it, but through that program I lost about 60 pounds and went from 180ish to 120ish pounds!
I'm currently doing it right now. On month 2. I actually don't mind the food at all. I find it quite tasty actually :) It took the first month of trying different things and finding what I liked, then I customized what I wanted sent for month 2. I cheated a bit month 1 bc it was over the holidays, but I've lost 5lbs so far in the past 2 weeks of being good ! (I'm also working out three times a wk too, so that would be helping the weight loss) I would recommend it though, I like it a lot!
I just received my first batch of frozen food from Nutrisystem. I plan to start tomorrow. Wish me luck.
