So I’ve been on NuvaRing for years now… but I’ve never been late putting it in/taking it out.
I called my pharmacist on Friday afternoon (a week ago, not yesterday) to get a new one. They told me that my prescription ran out and they have to call and get an OKAY to refill from my doctor. I said okay cool. But then, it turns out my doctor closed at 12 that day to get ready for the holiday weekend. They couldn’t fill my RX until they got hold of my doctor the following Tuesday. I was supposed to put my NuvaRing in on Sunday, rawr.
Well, so I get my NuvaRing two days late (UGH pharmacy/doctors/bad timing… of course my RX would run out on a holiday weekend….) and put it in.
Usually the NuvaRing is effective immediately as long as youre on time… but I can’t find anywhere online about what happens if you take it late, or how long it will take to kick in/protect me. Does any one know? I was just two days late putting it in.
I’m definitely not trying to have a baby yet.
