in the beginning it did, mine were never regular to begin with though.  I think it takes a few months for your body to get used to, I wouldn’t freak out yet! (easier said than done, i know!)

Also, I LOVE the nuvaring, I’ve been on it for…wow, 9 years? with no problems (other than me being forgetful) but I have gone for months skipping the out week, and just putting in a new one, which was super helpful when planning around my wedding and honeymoon! Stick with it, its really nice not having to remember a pill everyday!

Mine started a couple days after I took it out.  It also gave me major PMS during those days.  The concept of Nuvaring is nice, but it would not stay in place for me.  I switched back to the patch due to that.

I was on the NuvaRing for 3.5 years (before taking it out to TTC).

I frequently got my period on Friday after taking it out on Sunday!

I actually preferred to take it out on Thursday night and put it back in Sunday morning! My doctor OK’d it, and I would go six months at a time without a period!

@Ninteenthchance:  You may not get a period with Nuvaring. I didn’t. I’m PRO no periods. Awesome.

@Cluelessbride10:  I only have trouble with it staying in place if I don’t bend it on the ‘seam’.  Its easy to see, but every now and then I’m in a rush, and will have to take it out, and put it in again by folding it on that seam.  try it!

@Ninteenthchance:  I’m sure you are fine if you followed the instructions.  I have NEVER heard of anyone getting pregnant while using the Nuva correctly, unlike the pill or condoms.  I know that the statistics say its possible, but you’d think someone on these boards or in real life would have heard a story of it, right?

@Ninteenthchance:  I usually take it out Friday and get my period on Monday, so you might be fine! I think we all take different time for the hormones to dissipate

I take my ring out on Monday morning and get my period Thursday or Friday. I wouldn’t worry unless you hit the day you are to put the new one back in. Nuvaring usually cuts down on your period. I used to have it for 5 days and now I get it for 2 or 3, but I have also been on it for 10 years.

I take mine out on Wednesday morning and usually get my period by the end of the day on Saturday, so it can take a little while.

Love nuva ring! As long as you didnt have unprotected sex during the first 7 days of use, or had it out no longer than three hours then you were protected from pregnancy. I wouldnt stress too hard becuase then your period may not com at all. Also I wear kine in for 4 weeks then have my period week. Its nice having longer between shark weeks if that’s somehing that would be nice for you too

I take mine out on tuesday and I usually get my period on the next saturday and am finished up by the next tuesday (so out on tuesday, period sat-tues, new ring that tuesday). FWIW I was the same on the pill – delay start, I suppose. I LOVE the nuvaring except I’m horrible about marking the calendar which day I started a new one/when I should take it out, so I always have to call my pharmacy and ask the last time I filled my perscription and guesstimate…probably not a good thing to do…..
