Go to Sylvia's Tailor in Arlington Heights. I was sooooo scared to leave my dress with someone also, but Sylvia is AMAZING!!! My dress was a sample that was 4 sizes too small, and she put in a corset -- it looks like the dress came that way. She did such an amazing job, and her prices are really low. Hemming a dress is $120. Putting in my corset back, tacking down some of the flaps of scalloped lace on my dress, putting in cups, and adding straps total came to $120. She also makes veils for $50 each, but I decided not to get a veil.
I also had her alter a bridesmaid's dress for me, and she did a fabulous job on that one, too. Fit me like a glove. I'm so happy I found her!

I want to get some other price quotes for my dress alterations. My dress shop seems pretty pricey. I'm so worried I'm going to give my precious dress to someone that is going to eff it up though.
