I get accupuncture for jaw problems. I clench my teeth at night so badly that it causes pretty severe neck & shoulder pain on my right side.

I get accupuncture as the pain comes back — usually every month and a half. It has helped tremendously. It is very relaxing and I look forward to it.

Good luck! I hope you have good results as well.

I’m actually an acupuncturist. Acupuncture (especially acupuncturists who have knowledge of cosmetic acupuncture) can be very helpful. It also allows for higher cell turnover and increased circulation to the needled points. For stronger results, you can try electro-acupuncture

I have had accupuncture go extremely well for me. I had a locked knee once and we had a family friend who does accupuncture come to the hospital. Seriously, more relief than the morphine shots (but those were fun too..). I have also had it go awfully. After having it done several times on my knee with no pain whatsoever, I tried it for other issues and it was like my body hypersensitized. When he would twist the needles after they had been in for a while (NO idea about technical terms here), I would start crying it hurt so bad. Needless to say, I stopped. He said that it happens some times and I didn’t question it further.

I have done a few sessions of dry needling (similar, but pretty uncomfortable and I advise you don’t watch…) and it has worked MIRACLES for my my chronic daily headaches and neck pain. I will probably move my way into regular acupuncture after another few physio sessions.

I call this acupuncture on steroids, however my next step up would be electro-acupuncture and I’m glad I don’t need that as of yet.

She inserts twice in each shoulder even though the pain is in my neck – nifty eh? Right after as well as for a couple days afterwards it feels like I’ve done the most intense heavy weight shoulder workout everrrr…and no headaches for at least a week which is a BIG DEAL to me. Afterwards the amount, severity and length decrease substantially until I get fixed up again.

It’s still kinda unreal to me. Of all the things I’ve tried, of all the pain I’ve been in for all those years, I get fixed up once with some flimsy needles and my life is changed.
