I am! We brewed 6 mini kegs for our wedding and bought a large keg of Bud Light just incase. I was pleasantly surprised when we found out the Bud light was completly full at the end of the night! For 130 folks that was quite a compliment. The only bummer was a cousin of mine invited a guy I had never met who happens to own a microbrewery in another town. I was forewarned he was a harsh judge and was happy to hear the worst he said was xyz beer, I wouldn’t have done that. He later made a copy of the beer and never once admitted to liking it. Oh well she dumped him eventually.

We’re in Colorado, so it’s a hopping scene. I have a one-year-old, so I don’t get to attend many school-night activities – tomorrow we’ll try for a tapping at one of the local places. Saturday we’ll be hitting some Denver breweries for a friend’s birthday celebration – Great Divide, Epic, and Denver Beer Company, probably.

Flying Saucer – that place is great!

We had local craft beer at our wedding, too. :-9 My DH is a homebrewer, but our venue wouldn’t allow homebrewed goodies. Ah, well. DH scored a can of Alchemy Brewing’s Heady Topper last night from a friend with Vermont connections, so we cracked that open last night. SO GOOD.

We have a brewery right by our house, and it happens to be their 4th anniversary this weekend. Yay beer and food trucks!

nadnuk:  Aren’t they wonderful? We had an ill-advised post-GABF tasting session there several years ago, heavily featuring Cranberry Oatmeal Yeti (ZOMG, it was great – better than it sounds, I promise).

nadnuk:  What do you sell at GABF, may I ask? If it’s too identifying, you can PM me…I’m really curious. Love to see women active in the craft beer arena. 🙂

nadnuk:  We live in the Washington, DC area (it’s starting to get REALLY big into craft beer!!) but we haven’t done anything this week for it other than go buy a few six packs for home.  I will be working at my part time job at a craft beer bar tomorrow morning/afternoon, though…wonder if we’ll be packed?

Any DC area bees into craft beer?  I’d LOVE to meet up!

My FI homebrews, but it’s been on the backburner (sorry…sort of pun intended) since we just moved very recently.  But we’re planning to do a 5 gal batch of a clone of Avery’s White Rascal for our wedding and name it “Nice Day for a Wit Wedding” 🙂

anyone ever try hop candy?  i saw it on Chopped, it was one of the special ingredients.  They did an episode with everything related to beer.  I don’t homebrew, but I found them at the homebrew store in my area.

I’m in San Diego! This week I’ve been to Stone Brewery for a friend’s birthday, Coronado Brewing Company for mother’s day, Green flash, Karl Strauss, and my personal favorite, Ballast Point!!! Ballast Point is within walking distance to my house, so we go all the time. Man, now i’m craving a Sculpin. It’s not even 8am. #craftbeerproblems

ebarnes0:  RIGHT!!!?? I think we are going to do an exlcusive Ballast Point wedding. I have some friends who work in one of the tasting rooms that can get us killer deals on kegs.

PS. I’m actually jealous of you for working in a craft beer bar. You must get to try sooo much good beer. *pouting*
